It was pointed out to me today, by someone who shall remain nameless, that wearing undies beneath cycling knicks may not be the done thing.
Now of course the answer to subject of this post is "Nothing: it's all in perfect working order."
But in case you have another answer, let's have it!
What's worn under the knicks?

As I always say, knicks are meant to be worn like a Scotsman wears his kilt.

i would think that it would be good to wear budgy smugglers the brand, as i find them comfortable and impressive to look at on all occasions *
*i retain the right to support the use of budgy smugglers for use in every day circumstances that they may not ussually be worn, with out informing the public if or if i am not actually endorced by the company, financially or otherwise. (though i do not in fact wear them under knicks my self, as i beleive they would be uncomfortable))

The whole purpose of tight fitting lycra is to conform to the contour of the body and avoid creases that'll wear into the skin. Wearing undies within defeats the purpose of all the protections offered. Just get used to it.
I do not use padded nicks (not necessary really) so I wear undies, but the ones I use are travellers ones and are mostly made of lycra anyway.
I'll own up to being the nameless one lacking in tact.
Here's why you don't wear undies under your knicks.
"Knicks come with an antibacterial padded insert which is great for your health and comfort. A padded insert at the crotch, called a chamois or insert. An insert will sometimes have an antibacterial treatment as well as offering moisture transfer properties, most effective when worn without underwear. By not wearing underwear you will prevent chafing caused by friction from the seams rubbing on your skin."

There was no lack of tact - just lack of knowledge on my part!I'll own up to being the nameless one lacking in tact.
Seriously, tho, I'm a speedos wearer and have imagined they double-lycra effect is a bit like those posh hiking socks with an internal sock and an external sock. The idea is that if your feet are going to rub against something, it might as well be something soft - like the external sock - rather than the hard surface of your boots.
But I'll give this "nothing" caper a try.
