That is correct, according to my MCCC mate, they have a new courseI think the course has changed.
Its no longer a hot dog course but a similar to a "D" shape.
Check with macarthur club.
I hated the hotdog course!

Leaving about 7am from Bexley - have spare seat and can take 2 bikes - not sure if it helps...acutually this is of no use as I will hunt down the adventure ride post race and spend the day out there

sorry i missed your phone call james, was at a concert. Im more than happy to go in your car, though that does mean that you will have to hang around for my race.
chidgey chidgey chidgey!!!!
Mike took out 3rd place in C grade. John and james were involved in some good break aways (though it was against the grain of a race pretty much there for the sprinters)
Amy and mark learnt about what a sprinters crit is like, and the rest of us all sat inn our prospective grades. Alex a bit unlucky with break away groups and not being able to get across to the ones that were the right ones.
In our race it was pretty much a slow sorta pace formost of it, with a big bunch, and a few groups along the way tryuing to break away. John was on the two man attack that got the half way sprint money (gill carver) and then in the final sprint me and Chidgey were on the back of gil carver again in a bit of a big group to sprint though, from about tenth wheel, Mike foillowed him through for third, and i some how took a different route for some where between 5th and tenth i think. Nice little race, i wish it had been faster the rest of the time

I think we rode quite well as a team in C grade. When John and James were OTF Tim rode a nice false tempo on the front for a while and i went with a with a guy that tried to bridge to James.
The course was beautiful it was so smooth and you didn't need to break for any of the corners. I think the average could of been a bit higher in C but the grade was mostly full of sprinter types and no one wanted to do any work.
the sprint was pretty interesting with about 10 guys really going for it. As Tim said i had Gill's wheel and he lead us out till about 150m to go when the middle opened up for me and jumped past a few guys. the distance between 1st and 5th was about a bike length.

D grade
It was an odd race - first of all I went to last years venue and thus was 15 mins away from the real venue, the gas gas helped out an I made it in time to roll out - the guy at the sign on desk said raced here before? A. No. "then please be advised that its very hard for a breakaway at this the Smeaton Crit"...Ok, so we all plod around in a big group with the very occasional sprint off the front, then nothing to the point of slowing down & the risk of clipping a wheel, someone was constantly bickering hold your line, well if i'm in front all lines are mine right...there was one rider who had in fact broken away and I inquire as to if we ought to catch him? - anyway I must have finished 9th or so in a second wave of sprinters
Congratulations to the Chidge - well done mate on your podium(S)

D grade
I followed some of the half hearted sprints off the front, however, it seemed they were just checking out who was going with them and didn't pedal on. I did a lap and a couple of half laps on the front (and shouldn't have) resulting in me finishing near the back of the bunch.
It was a good race and l'll race there again.
