Cycology t-shirts - discount code for DHBC members
Cycology t-shirts make t-shirts with cycling logos on them. They produce them locally in Sydney.
We've been talking to them about a DHBC casual t-shirt that we might do next year. In the meantime they have offered a discount code for DHBC members to use. That code is DHBC and you apply it at the check-out.
Any ideas for a brief for a custom range some time early next year? What would be attractive to you? Their designer will create something from our brief.
And vote in the poll so we know whether this is worth doing.

I think a red t-shirt with the DHBC logo in circles on the front & back, with the added text 'Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club' on the back too with a similar look to our jerseys.
I'd also go a polo shirt with something a bit more subtle like the old logo that's on the old style jerseys? - I could wear it to work.

I agree with Todd... Sorry Stuart but I'm not sure our jersey, replicated in a t-shirt form would go so well with jeans. I'd prefer a smaller logo on the chest or similar.
Given they use the same colours, you could get some inspiration from here!
However, with so many club members it will be difficult to get a unanimous vote. I imagine the designs will be tabled and we will go with the majority.

The reason I want a jersey replica is I'd like a supporters t-shirt for the track etc. Something that says you're DHBC, or clearly supporting DHBC, but not riding. Surely we can have 2 x designs? If not, there's plenty of cheap t-shirt print shops. I'll do one up then shall I.
I don't think I was suggesting that all members vote on the t-shirt design! Rather Cycology has its own designer and we would need to give her a brief. I'm thinking she will come up with something way better than anything I can design.
If we want a replica of the DHBC jersey, Stuart is right, we can probably just get that done anywhere.
What I was talking about was something more casual but still DHBC. If people want to chuck up ideas of things that would be important, I'll try and derive a brief from that.
Red, the history, a tie back to logos we are familiar with etc are all likely to be in the brief.

Can we have an option other than red? Only with DHBC being red, my football play in red, my college colour - red, lets just say I've got a lot of red shirts.
Yep I think we should include the original logo to compliment the new logo. One of the strong points of our club is its long heritage. Not to mention that the Australian Penny-farthing champ is a fellow member.A t-shirt is a great idea, ..... maybe with one of the vintage logo's that are floating around.

Yeh I like the idea of a jersey replica too. Perhaps with some updates
I made myself a t-shirt with a dhbc logo on the chest (screenprint), but it didn't look very good (workmanship and the model aside!). Maybe Cyclology can do something more with it.
Stuart's idea about the polo shirt sounds great. Maybe a bit more expensive, but smarter. The vintage logo would go with the polo look too. Maybe with 'Since 1908' underneath it!

Suggestion for design. No colours at this juncture. Assume it will be dominated by red.
Hi Marc
Looks good but I would prefer to see the modern DHBC circles removed from the front. The DHBC is more discretely hidden within the cartouche.
The current design is mixed modern / retro look. Less is more in my view.
My 2 cents.
John
P.S. Thanks for taking this idea forward.

I'm still thinking we give the design task to the Cycology designer with a brief that incorporates much of the above. If we are going to ditch the letters in circles thing, that's a pretty big decision. Not thinking this is the right time ...
Is this idea still alive?
I agree here. We can do replicas of our shirts Any where, small logo or large logo. I think the point is we have a designer who is given some direction via a creative brief, wether that be we want a t shirt that is cool that shows our history or a modern shirt that promotes some thing else, let them play around with concepts. That's what they are good at. This would be a shirt we would be happy to wear as casual wear, not just as a supporter....it needs to be cool!I'm still thinking we give the design task to the Cycology designer with a brief that incorporates much of the above.
