I've become quite serious about my cycling this year and am keen on entering a road event, I was just wondering if there was one event in particular that would be more suited to a beginner?
Thank you in advance for your opinions, thoughts etc!
Beginner Road Events in 2010
You should give the racing at Hefron park a go. Its run by Randwick Botany cycle club and quite a few DHBC riders race there. The racing in on every Saturday. See http://www.randwickbotanycc.com/News.htm for the start times.
Are you over 30. I think if you are - Waratah Vets is the best bang for you buck. Grades all the way up to F. At Heffron there are only 3 grades and C grade is quite strong from what the DHBC C graders tell me.I've become quite serious about my cycling this year and am keen on entering a road event, I was just wondering if there was one event in particular that would be more suited to a beginner?

Check Waratah vets web site but I know the next one is on at the Tennis centre. It's a crit 55 minutes + 2 laps, great atmosphere. 28th March. Usually a few of us would ride out there from DHBC, but on the 28th I have a function so will drive out if I go.
I understand that Heffron now has D grade again, which in effect is their beginner's grade.
