Joining Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club

So you'd like to join DHBC—great news—here's how:

There are 2 easy steps to membership
  1. Understand the Risks of Cycling;
  2. Join DHBC by paying the applicable membership fee.

For those who are fairly new to riding, you may ride for up to three road rides to let you decide whether you want to join the Club.

It's important for insurance, for complying with rules (including UCI and State and Australian Laws) and for organisational purposes that people join if they enjoy riding with DHBC. Plus if you like the club, why not join up?

Good news! AusCycling have introduced a free 4 week trial membership.

Joining DHBC gives you membership to 2 organisations
  1. Dulwich Hill Bicycle Club (DHBC); and
  2. AusCycling (which provides insurance and allows you to race if you have a race licence).

What sort of licence do I need?

If you just want to ride Saturday Slowies and/or do Waterfall on a Sunday, adventure rides and participate in other official club training rides and/or do Track Training (not racing) you need a Lifestyle licence, the cost of which covers administration and insurance and the DHBC membership fee.

If you want to race on the road, track or mountain biking (including track omniums and the club crit series) you need a Race licence.

Age categories are dependant on the age you turn in the current calendar year and range from juniors, through elite to masters.

Membership categories are outlined on the AusCycling website at this page.

Membership costs

DHBC membership is itemised as a small fee on top of the base AusCycling membership.

Membership fees are listed in the AusCycling membership website. Select your package, click join, seelct NSW and 'Dulwich Hill BC' and all avaible categories and their respective prices will be listed.

Payments
You must join DHBC on-line using a credit card. If you do not have access to a credit card, please contact the secretary via the links on the homepage to organise a manual membership application.

Expiry & Renewal

Recreational (Silver Ride) memberships are valid year to year (by quarter) from the time you join DHBC. For example if you join in Q1 (Jan-March) your membership won't expire till the end of March the following year.
Racing (Gold Race) memberships expire on 31st Dec every year. Note if you join in Q3 you pay a half year rate and if you join in Q4 you get 15 months membership for the price of 12. Simple huh!
