Road Bike Wanted to buy
Is anyone looking to sell their bike, or know anyone who has a bike for sale? I'm after a road bike with tiagra/105 groupset in a s-m (52cm?) size. Something like a Giant Defy with a carbon fork would be good, or the equivalent. Something in the range of $1000-1500.
how far off a new bike would you be with that amount of money?
there was a last years version of my bike (BMC slo1), for 1200 just the frame at burwood cycles, if you could find some crap as wheels, and some gears, you could then upgrade that later, id be totally happy with my bike if i had that frame. Id say ring them and see if they have any left to start with.

:S id be careful buying a bike that is 1200 new :S but i guess if it has the gears you want, then alot of it wont be much different. You can change wheels later, id only recomend the frame i was saying because its heaps good, i dont recomend any other options for that price, though im sure theres good stuff
Defy 2 has an alu frame primarily paired with Sora 9 speed groupset. Low end but perfectly functional.
Will probably post this as a separate thread, but yesterday when I was down at Peter Bundy cycles, he told me he is going to stop selling other bikes, and just sell custom made bikes built by him and Jim.
This means he is clearing out all his current stock, so apart from the fact that this is the time of year to buy a bike, he's got some ripper bargains. He mentioned a BMC with the latest 105 gear for ~$1,700. Based on Tim's post above that's the 105 groupset for $500!
Bargain.
