^That's a very flash bike Tim!
Also loved your motorbike drag pics. One day I will also take my bike to see how much it clocks for a quarter mile.

Oh that one is just way too good. An email has been sent to first level support asking them to investigate the issue with our Intranet home page. I wonder how long it will take them to realise what the actual address of the embedded link is

This is slightly bike related, but I'm telling the story here anyway.

I went to Assos today to return some leg warmers I had purchased online as I decided they weren't suitable. Luckily they have a returns policy where you can get a complete refund if the item doesn't fit etc (I bought it from their online shop).

Not only did I get my money back, but the guy gave me a pair of socks that are worth $79.

I found two things about this completely hilarious. Firstly, I was returning an item, therefore taking money from them - and I get given something for free?! At first the guy started talking about them and I thought he was trying to sell them to me, then he told me to take them.

Secondly, how the hell does the cost of a pair of socks get to be $79? They are made from the same roubaix fabric as their arm warmers etc - and even though the actual amount of material used is less than would be for the Assos arm warmers they are still $10 more expensive.

You can see my new friends here - http://www.assos.com.au/index.php?main_ ... ts_id=5405

I'm wearing them in the office now and my feet a getting mighty toasty. I hope it's cold on my ride in the morning.

After posting this I now realise that the aim of the gift was publicity. I think I fell for it - doh!

If you paste this script into the address bar of a site with pictures on the page and hit enter, you will get more useless but cool effects.

javascript:R= 0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24; x4=300; y4=200; x5=300; y5=200; DI= document.images; DIL=DI.length; function A(){for(i=0; i<DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style; DIS.position= 'absolute' ; DIS.left=Math. sin(R*x1+ i*x2+x3)* x4+x5; DIS.top=Math. cos(R*y1+ i*y2+y3)* y4+y5}R++ }setInterval( 'A()',5); void(0)

A velodrome bike with brakes and platform pedals? Who are they kidding?

The other bike would be illegal on the streets in all states except Victoria.

That model bike keeps coming up whenever I surf flebay. Its one of those things that you never knew existed, but once you did you have this desire to own it, for no apparent logical reason. "because it was there"

They all do. But impact activities provides additional stimulus for bone growth.

Man today I got side swiped by a car on my fixie and stayed up :D he decided to go onto the anzac bridge and didn't think about being able to go left of strait from that lane. My foot came out and I nearly stacked it after he went past as I totally leaned into the car, but kept it up :D so yeah I'm sure he must be scraped up a bit!

I got side swiped by a car on my fixie last night on the way home from track. It was on the roundabout that takes you onto Unwins Bridge. I had right of way and was already on the roundabout, the guy paused but I guess didn't look properly and accelerated ahead. I thought he was trying to run me down on purpose for a second.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to stay up, but me and my bike were ok.

First time I've been hit by a car, and the second time I've come off a bike this week. Well, the fifth time if you include mountain biking stacks.

Your not having much luck this week Vic. Any further damage to the tail bone?

Maybe car prefer hitting fixie riders?

Yeah it has been a pretty unlucky week. No further damage to the tail bone. My left butt cheek is now in a small amount of pain so I really just need to do some damage to the right one to ensure an even spread of pain across my back side. Awesome.

My knuckles are bruised from the side of the car so hopefully I can hit a rider that hard :p

This bike actually looks evil!!! It conjures thoughts of the drag race through the drains in Grease the movie, lol. Except I think the only thing that could get damaged by this bike is the rider...

Gross, that would greatly disturb the butter/sugar/egg/more butter/more sugar combination that makes cookies so good.

A two month cookie break is what I require to shed some kilo's to make me faster for summer.

Weight is only relevant going up Artillery Hill in the RNP. All else, weight gives you more presence in the bunch and allows you to descend faster.

Yes

And I also watch the indigenous TV channel, despite having 100% european blood in my veins.

Well, time for some brew pictures. This one is my Russian Imperial Stout, which i'm hoping to be good for drinking in time for the Tour next year. (some will age longer though).

Currently Fermentation is going crazy!!

Luckily i used the blowoff tube, otherwise there would've been a lot of mess (container just added, there was a little mess on the floor).

Here is a poster from the 1970s for Clement tyres, which were the best tyres in the world at that time.

Now, I reckon the bloke actually looks like Mikesbytes, aka Michael Clement. What fo you think?

What's a Russian Imperial Stout?
Russian Imperial Stout

Description:
Inspired by brewers back in the 1800's to win over the Russian Czar, this is the king of stouts, boasting high alcohol by volumes and plenty of malt character. Low to moderate levels of carbonation with huge roasted, chocolate and burnt malt flavours. Often dry. Suggestions of dark fruit and flavors of higher alcohols are quite evident. Hop character can vary from none, to balanced to aggressive.

Average alcohol by volume (abv) range: 8.0-12.00%
More details

I'll have to wait and see how the yeast goes, but i'm thinking mine should finish up at around 13%.

Stolen from another site. Seems to work in the opposite direction to it did on the original site.

I've been wondering what's going on with this new notebook i'm using at work, but finally i've figured out that the keyboard is actually running out of ink. It seems fine for a while then the more I type or the longer the paragraph, it starts to run out, then I pick it up, give it shake and it all comes good again. Strangest thing.

Aldi is doing bike gear again this week: http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_10186.htm
I like the fact that the helmet cam is waterproof to three metres.

Yes, but it doesn't specify whether that's 3m down or up. If you climb to 3m above sea level and it rains, expect your camera to break.

Might get a set of cheap gloves though...
