Has anyone noticed the new 'Local' guide on Strava? I've had a look through and it's a great tool. Especially if you travel for work etc. or even looking for new rides and runs around the city.

Marginally disappointed all the ride and run distances are in miles and climbing is in feet. If it was truly 'local' it would obviously be in km and m. Unless there is a toggle I haven't noticed?

After successfully Tweeting them, they answered that their metric release will be out shortly.

Thanks Adam. I have a plugin that blocks the newsfeed so I don't see all those challenges in my feed all the time :-)

A few Tweets later and I have been advised to change the language from 'English (US)' to 'British English' as that should default everything to km and m.

And it has!

Clearly English has to be specified as 'British' lest we confuse those poor Americans.

They're easily confused. They even celebrate "World Standards Day" on a different day to everybody else: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Standards_Day
