So the Garmin site is telling me there's a firmware upgrade from 3.0 to 3.2. Given my disastrous history of Garmin upgrades and the fact my Garmin is finally working fine I'm wondering if anybody else has done this?

Changes made from version 3.00 to 3.20:
Fixed display of power meter serial numbers.
Made changes to support manufacturing.

Others are seeing some weirdness > https://forums.garmin.com/showthread.ph ... rsion-3-20

2.8 to 3.0 at least gets rid of the fabulously annoying "multiple heart rate monitors found" messages & errors ...

I've done the 3.0 to 3.2 upgrade. No issues (yet). I think it was mostly for power meter compatibility and I don't have one of those.

A slightly different startup screen, otherwise I can't tell the difference.

Sadly my speed hasn't improved as a result of the upgrade.

Improved support for power-based workouts.
Added the ability to modify the FTP value and to recalculate the power zones based on the new FTP value.
Made improvements to the power meter calibration process.
Fixed an issue where Auto Zero was incorrectly displayed as an option when paired to the PowerTap hub.
Improved the calculation of elevation gain/loss.
Improved the calculation of time behind on the Virtual Partner page.
Fixed various issues with viewing activities in history.

Stuart,
I upgraded to 3.2, thinking it'd be a harmless upgrade...painful mistake..

I've transformed a perfectly working edge500, which picked up satellite lock within a minute, to a unit which on my commute home now takes up to 20 minutes to get a lock (this is after I've re-set the satellite co-ordinates)
I'm also getting the weird oscillating speedo (between 1km/h & 5km/h) when the bike is stationary too.

I agree with Mike - if it ain't broke don't upgrade unless you need the power meter stuff

btw - anyone know how to remove the updates?

Yes I know how to remove updates .. I've done it three times !

See this post >> http://dhbc.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php? ... in+upgrade

However it appears that Garmin have removed the firmware files from their website. I have copies of 2.8 and 3.0 if anybody wants them. Strange also that it seems I was still gettign the "multiple heart rate monitors found" errors with 2.8.

Garmlet: a Garmineer muttering "To update, or not to update, that is the question: whether 'tis Nobler on the bike to suffer
the Swings and Errors of outrageous Strava uploads, or to take off the Garmin against a Sea of techno-troubles, and by opposing end them: to cease cadenced-measured-pedaling, to ride monitored no more"
