can we have a sister club relationship?

we're here in the lovely Languedoc-Roussillon department of France (Provence really) and have now done two rides with the Uzes Velo Club >> http://www.uzesveloclub.fr/

They are a real welcoming bunch of riders (no women unfortunately) and although we are totally unable to speak French they have made sure we're having great rides, even taking us to different towns today to see the best local sites. Their kit is Red-White-Black too and I thought maybe we could setup a sister club relationship with them? I have no idea what this would entail or what we'd do but hey, I love the idea of begin linked to a French cycling club.

Im no constitutional guru but I have noted the RBCC website states that DHBC is its sister club.

So there is a precedence for sister clubs. I would imagine though it would need to be founded on a mutual benefit for both clubs. Randwick uses the velodrome.

Amazing photos!

I love how their coffee ride is like "ride past the beautiful vineyards,
through the medieval town....etc etc"

(I wonder how many now in the club know we have two internationals in our midst whe rode UCI Track Internationals, and not for Australia!)

Not a bad idea to promote all clubs and exchange.See what you can arrange with those guys.

Does there need to be 2 Michelin Star restaurant in the neighbourhood to qualify?

yes indeed - all very excellent. Sunday's 90k ride was at a fast pace! Too fast for me really but they wait up for stragglers (Jo & Michele were fine). Tuesday was a perfect C28 pace. BTW, it's not a coffee ride - they have beer when they get back as they don't leave till 8:30 so return is around 11:45ish. The weird thing is they don't stop at all ont he ride for coffee - only for 'natural breaks' beside the road; having some girls along doesn't deter then either and they are really impressed that Michele & Jo can climb with the bunch (Stuart, on the other hand, is off the back, but not last rider).

For me, riding with these guys has been one of the best parts of the holiday. Their version of "Saturday slowies", isn't on a Saturday and it's not exactly slow - so I guess it's nothing like our Saturday slowies. The 80km ride to them is easy, as they take us the scenic route, but there is always a bit of friendly racing up sections of hills and some great long fast decents, so overall a great workout with fantastic views along the way. Then there is always the same 4 that finish with a beer every ride.
