Tweed is a type of cloth, and subsequently the clothing that is made from it.

Think of a Toff.

Gi I think the Tweed rides are about trying to capture the old fashions of cycling past. Who ever said "come in sluggo's" would be leading you astray I would think. Sounds like a fun event, I might tweed up myself some day.

last year they were riding around centennial park. I think it is cool, but the only tweed I have is a jacket, I'd need some pants and a hat.

I rode the tweed ride last year. It was fun, but the focus was on old clothing rather than the bikes. There were a couple of nice bikes, but way too many hipsters for my liking.

I'm not going to bother this year.

Hi Toff
The ride was cool. About 140 riders and heaps of vintage bikes. But the hippsters were up to something sneaky there. I was shocked to find all of them dressed like middle class pomies from a century ago. If I wouldn't have been there, they would have made Sydney look like ancient UK.

Tweed is what you want to be wearing in Sydney right now. It's thick wool, so it's pretty warm and toasty, if a bit heavy for riding in.

My favourite is Harris tweed for obvious reasons. I wear my Harris tweed jacket to work on days like today. haven't worn it on a bike, but may probably ride the tweed ride on it someday.
