Avg Speed by my clock 34.9km/h.

Well done Mick an Tim. Lng sprint by Mick into the wind paid off big time.

I was 5th i think.

Managed 4th place in C Grade through some luck in threading through the bunch in the last lap prior to the sprint, C was reduced to 13 laps from 16, average was about 35.5 kph, just a smidge faster than D.
The wind was not terribly helpful to me today, took a bit of effort to keep the 53x16 (89.3") singlespeed going out of the 180 onto the main straight with the wind. However gearing down was not an option with the speed reached at times when others were on the attack with the wind behind us.

Why was the distance reduced for C grade?

Man mick beat me in the sprint?! thats after he did a whole lap on the front etc!

I finished a race!! thanks alot to my riding at heffron sensai's Matt and mick (beanzy and micklan)(yes matt rides for randwick)

I seriously have only ever ridden on the back in my 6 or so not finished attempts at f, e and d grade. But today my idea of sitting behind where ever matt is, actually worked, he was sitting in about 6th wheel for the first half of the race, but jumped out of that place and left me to work out how to ride with all the front people, who were doing turns etc, and eventually yelled at the 'dulwich hill riders' to do a turn. This is when Micklan, who was reminding me of yenz voigt of team csc, did a lap on the front in the totally windy conditions, letting me sit on him, and taking our turn on the front :D

From then on i did a few times on the front in the last fiew laps, but some of them slower than any race pace, as i seriously suck on the front, untill the last lap where this young lad in his second race ever did a lap on front in front of me :D i felt a bit bad that i was gonna beat him in the sprint, but he seemed happy enough after it, that lad should be up a grade soon.

For the sprint, i was behind that lad for about 10 or 20 metres, when micklan, totally at the front of the straiot went for it! with two or so lads on his wheel, i tried to go after him but couldnt go around the two who boxed me on that side so i went on the left to go around it all and head after him. With about 100 metres to go i got onto his tale, and some where after that i scraped up along side him, but got beaten by half a wheel!

Far out mick! i was told you cant sprint the whole strait like that! and you did it all and beat me who can do nothing but that sort of sprint in doing so!

Oops sorry this is all pretty long, but yeah seriously Mick killed that race, even if he did only win it in the sprint! And along the way he told me where to go and how to ride it! Thanx heaps man!

But yeah i finally finished a race! thats after getting dropped after 3 or so laps last week. So yeah :D im stoked!

\

All grades had their distances reduced by 2 to 4 laps as A Grade who only had 5 riders did not want to ride their usual 20 laps (40 km).

I remember Tim rolled next to me just after the finish line and calmly said: Dulwich Hill 1 & 2

Interesting to note that B grade faster than A grade. Although very small A grade bunch.

Also C grade average listed as 38km/h +. This may be a mistake as we did pass C grade at one stage and when they passed us again i think they did not get to far ahead...

Yes, the results have C grade dong 14 laps, we actually only did 13, our average was really 35.43 kph. I think B grade is incorrect as well, I believe they also did a lap less than stated.

The c grade bunch might have sped up heaps once i jumped on the front, they were just in front of us when i got there, but once i was on for a bit they disapeared off into the distance, doing what could have been alot faster than us. Was this their speed or our speed :D Some might think we went down to some sort of almost walking pace speed during this time.. amazing that no one went past ,me... But i doubt it, what sort of rider would hardly ever be on the front, then do amazingly slow speeds once there, even though they were there at least a lap or two. But then some how still be there for the sprint :D crazy.

I note C Grade results have now been adjusted to 13 laps and the average to 35.43 kph on the RBCC website.
