I entered into this race, but, because of my knee, I need to rest. Which doesn't go well with training for a race.

Therefore, does someone else in the club want my spot? I will contact the organisers to see if we can make the change. Don't worry about reimbursing me for it, it was only a $25 entry fee.

This isn't a bad option for a first open race, it is only about 90km, pretty flat, only one hill in the middle and as it is a 3 lap course, it is easy to pull out early if you get dropped.

PM me or reply to this if you are interested in the spot.

My guess is they won't allow someone else to take your spot, because they have more entries than the limit anyway, but they did say you can get a full refund as race credit if you pull out of the race early enough (however the credit can only be used when entering manually). I'd say that's the best thing to do.

You can enter manually by fax for race credit I'm told. So it's pretty easy to do....

One other thing. I recall mention of some people possibly riding down to Dapto to watch the race and then getting a lift back from Alan. I will confirm that Alan is still going down to watch, but it could be a good ride for a change, and a chance for some of you to take a look at how the road opens usually operate. Best place to watch would be riding out onto the course and finding a spot at the top of the ankle snapper, that way you get a good view of the back end of the course (i found out one year when i left my shoes and clothing at home).

James

I must admit I have been too busy at work to organise my cancellation.

At a guess, we should try calling

Phil Jones 0404839695

He is listed as the contact on the Race Information.

You just ring cycling nsw 9738 5853, Tim had to do it for the track when he broke his collarbone. Once they send the money to the event organisers it's normally to late unless you have extreme circumstances...

The correct number is 9738 5850, ask to be put through to Race Entries.

I cancelled today and I was credited the money. This means that you have $25 credit towards your next race entry. You will need to put through a manual entry for the next event and include the difference if the cost is highter than $25.
