One for the bucket list
Saturday 26th of September
Lithgow to Goulburn via Jenolan Caves - approximately 230 km 3500 metres of climbing.
Not for the faint hearted, you'll be a long way from home with few bail out options apart from walking and hitch hiking.
Train to Lithgow departs from Central (Country Train Platforms) at 3.48 am arrives 6.40 am
Train from Goulburn to Campbelltown departs 9.02 pm
Current information is that travelling with bicycles on these trains is no problem - you may have to pay half fare for your bike.
13.5 hours is not a lot of time for stuffing around so the pace will be pushed.
Various participants are contemplating staying Friday night in Lithgow and/or staying Saturday night in Goulburn and riding some or all the way back to Sydney on the Sunday.
We need to be self sufficient on this ride, at a minimum bring ample food as there aren't many shops out there, 2 bidons, 3 spare tubes, pump and money for pies.

Honestly, anyone who catches the 3.48am train is just crazy. Forget the ride

The climb up from Jenolan Caves towards Oberon is way steep.

Is it as bad as back of falls? I'll find out I guess.

Hope I remember to put the 32 on the back

"approximately 230 km 3500 metres of climbing"

This is almost exactly the same as Grafton to Inverell

When I've done Grafton to Inverell I've driven to Grafton. For 2 times I had a support driver, for the 3rd time I didn't and got support from local riders
