Hi All,

Suggesting an Akuna Bay and West Head ride leaving from the cafe at 6am on Sunday morning. Forecast is hot - 31 degrees.

I need to be home by 12 so limited coffee stops etc. but still plenty of time to regroup at the top of hills. Given I am usually the last one up them it will be up to me to keep us on time!

I may or may not be riding the new Firefly (depending on how the Saturday ride goes).

What pace is this ride?

Jo should answer, as it's her ride. I'll be riding at Jo's pace for all but the hills. My guess would be 28s to slow middies.

I might see you all out there somewhere. I'm heading out to West Head hoping to race with MWCC. Might ride back with you if so.

Sorry, missed the pace question. Andrew is spot on - 28's to slow middies. Peeps can do their own speed up the hills.

Distance? Not actually sure! Maybe 100km?

But really, everyone is just coming to see the new bike...

A big thanks to Eleri for the lift home... Dougie, Derek, Dave and I were the lucky recipients of a seat in the car.

Fatigue, lack of fitness, speedy route out all contributed to our downfall. Apologies to those we held up.

But Mirinda Carfrae of Australia has defended her Ironman World Championship Title so all is right with the world.

And contrary to popular belief, new bikes do not make you go faster.

Thanks for organising this ride Jo.

I had to bail out myself at the end of Forest Way, so I wasnt much better.

Think for me to do this ride complete, we'd have to go out a bit slower and probably not take on stuff like Powderworks.

Enjoyed the rest thoroughly...

Steve.

here are some of the pics i took yesterday. I didn't get everyone, it pays to ride slower than me.
Great ride, hard ride! Thanks for the company. I got home totally shattered and Anna said I should have a lie down. Oh how I love that woman!
