Thinking of occasionally driving down to Loftus to do RNP on a Sunday, maybe around late morning.

How busy/dangerous does the park get during the day compared to earlier on?

A heck of a lot more traffic than much earlier in the morning. Some going pretty fast.

Not so good in school holidays from my experience. The two times I have been to West Head, however, there have been very few cars. Probably because the road doesn't go anywhere much.

There is a lot more traffic later in the morning including motorcyclists

Some motorcyclists use the national park as a road racing course.

It is not for the faint hearted.

I'd avoid it if possible.
