Hi all,
next Sunday, December 5th, there will be a "step-up ride" for riders that may be very confident with slowies, but want to get more experience of a longer road ride.

The destination is Kurnell, a 65km return trip with very few hills, but we will do the 1km climb to Cape Solander which sadly cannot be mapped and is absent on the map here at http://www.mapmyride.com/route/au//810129083302318504

We'll ride out with the C25s, but turn off before they start climbing.

There'll be a rest/water stop in Kurnell.

This is a No Drop ride - myself and Rainbow will ensure you get back - and all bikes are welcome but its best if you don't try it on a heavy MTB or similar.

A couple of these and you'll be ready for Waterfall, or you'll just know a new and lovely ride.

Simon

Hi All,
Don't forget to bring a spare tube or two and a pump if you have one and be ready for a 6:30am start.
I am looking forward to our ride, see you Sunday!
Rainbow :)

Okay all of you that have been looking at this thread: time to mentally commit ;-)
You'll never start doing longer distances if you don't start doing longer distances, and there's no better time to start than this Sunday!
At this stage the weather forecast looks good, so I hope to see you.
It will be a friendly, happy, no-drop ride with a break in the middle and we'll be back in time for coffee with the rest of the crew.
If it's a small group, we'll come back on very safe routes with minimal traffic.

Thanks everyone for coming along. I think we can declare the ride a success. Keep watching the forums for news of the next step-up ride, which may include a hill or two!

I am keen to "step up" this Sunday if there is a large enough group, otherwise I will look out for the next one.

cheers

with all my training i deserve a break so a nice easy ride to kurnell followed by coffee and the beach (bronte anyone?) sounds perfect.
