Ok, we are back, and now stronger people having ridden at the Coffs Harbour track open :D

So heres the run of things.

we neatly chucked our stuff in and on the Jess's car, and headed off to coffs harbour on friday.

we passed the Marilyn Monroe on the stick

Image

picked up some hippy trips and tunes,

before reaching the big banana

Image

we then settled in for some hardcore racing..

Image

well,, until we worked out they had pizza, the big bird even showed up from eagleboys!! absolutely every one in town was there?!

Thats Jess's aunty by the way :D

oops yeah, the racing...

did i mention it was windy? heres a pic of all the chairs being blown over!!

Image

it was gail force out there!! and the funniest thing about it all was that Brendan Cole was out there on a disc?! this was funny enough, but then him being a sprinter of some sort, he put in a 5 lap break away in the wind, and won the first race?! He then proceeded to put his 5 spoke on the front for the next race!! which was funny until he started using both sides of the course because of it!!

But yes back to the racing :D

the place is pretty much a 333 mtr flat track, and fast as any thing! well it was going down the strait, the back strait wasnt as fast..

Image

as for results, Jess made her way into the wheel race final with a close 6th place over a feisty Randwick looking lady who reminded us of the first aid lass from the Christmas carnivals! Jess was also involved in an 8 lap break away which she didnt exactly get involved with, leaving her as a lone third place for 7 of the 8 laps it was broken away, this may not sound extra ordinary, but in this wind (which Brendan Cole was still riding around on a disc wheel in) she had to ride the equivilant of an 8 degree gradient hill for a quater of each lap! (this also resulted in a very fast ride down the front strait!!!)

So yeah, as i was saying the results for our club for the weekend were jess making the final of the wheel race and a tough fought out third placed solo ride in the women's race!

(heres a pic of her starting the wheel race)

Me and simon on the other hand had pasta.

I didnt actually get a picture of the pasta, but it looked a bit like this
Image

though it was in a food container box similar to this
Image

there was also great steak sandwiches, but we were side tracked by the spaghetti

(side note, we actually got two third places, and missed out on qualifying for the wheel race by one spot, but this was all of little consequence)

Great report Tim! I just love the pictures, especially Marilyn on a pole. Nice work on the track Jessica!

I'm off home to cook some spaghetti.
