mini V brakes

Has anyone got any experience with mini V brakes? There seems to be a lot of mixed information on whether or not they are any good. This is what is currently on my touring bike. As I'm changing the levers I can use normal V brakes instead, I'll just have to use Tektro RL520 levers instead of R200A. ...

Were there no coaches in the Cruisers on Sunday? If this continues to happen then we will have to implement a roster. What happens is a few of the coaches ride in the fast bunch, where they are not really needed, we had three last Sunday. Ideally the coach in the bunch needs to be stronger then the ...

I'm going to consider this enough feedback. I won't actually be taking orders on these, its not like they are expensive like jerseys. The initial order is likely to be for 100 bottles. They are going to be $10 each, I'm still waiting for some quotes to come in, but this will mainly effect how much p...

Clear with red printing could be the go then. That way they won't clash. These bidons have a clear strip up one side so you can see how much is in them. Obviously this isn't the case with the clear one.

Bidons (water bottles)

Since I can't seem to find the bidon type I like anywhere I've decided to look into getting some printed with a DHBC logo etc. I'm expecting these to be sold for around the $10 mark, maybe cheaper. This will also make the club a bit of money. The ones I'm looking at are made by BOA (650ml), so they ...

Shimano bar end shifters are cheaper then the SRAM ones. They use different amounts of cable pull so can't be interchanged without some pain, you're shifters and derailleurs have to match, or you will have to use a converter.

There is always the option of getting one with a good wall thickness, putting it in a lathe and turning it down to the right diameter. The 25.4 will be more common since that's 1 inch.

Before we had multiple bunches it was the norm to attack at the bridge on the way back.

From http://www.bikefitting.com/English/Theory/Comfort.aspx The handlebar-width should correspond with the width of the shoulders. Handlebars that are too wide automatically increase the frontal surface area of the cyclist and lead to loss of aerodynamic advantage. An additional drawback is that the...

Geoff S ordered some rings last year in the wrong BCD, they are 144, you may want to see if he still has them and wants to off load them

I have a chain ring from Cycle underground, its not quite as round as a Sugino ring I have but they are a lot cheaper. I would definitely go with 4mm plate and the 3mm Plate my be a little on the flexible side. One thing to note is that the rings are not heat treated after they are machined, they ar...

My wording about the fast bunch does sound a little elitist, what I mean is that the fast bunch consists mainly of people who race, where as the middies consists of racing and non-racing cyclists. Correct me if I'm wrong. Orphic's comment drives home what I'm on about with the middies maintaining th...

We had Will and myself in B grade today, we averaged 37 and a bit km/h. I put in a little bit of work on the front closing some gaps, one was when we passed D grade, Geoff yelled out as I went past. Good to see Will moving up the grades. Both of use were still there for the final sprint, I think I c...
