OK, last night and today, I learnt at least one advantage of running Campy stuff over Shimano. On the trip to Melbourne, the shop in Lakes Entrance (who rebuilt my wheel for me) mentioned that he couldn't get my rear shifting perfect (which has been problematic for over 12 months now). He mentioned ...

Your max speed would depend on how much you weigh. While this seems to go against what Galileo proved (that objects will accelerate at the same pace regardless of weight), it is right. At the end of the day, you are up against wind resistance, so you would want to try and slip stream yourself as muc...

Yes, a 36 on the front does trade off some at the low end. You need to consider the gap between the chainrings. While a difference of 2 teeth doesn't sound like much, it roughly equates to one gear on the back. So if you are in 34/12 ( on a 12-21 9 speed cassette, so you are running 12/13/14/15/16/1...

The catch with brands like Colnago, is yes you can get their bikes at the price you are looking, but you will be at their entry level. I know I had this when I was looking at a new frame, I could either get mid/high range in some brands, or get the very entry level from Time. At that point, you are ...

BTW, why do I need to submit twice ? I think that the problem is caused by the migration of the users, the cookies that are used are the same name, but of course this forum uses a different sql table. I would recommend that you log out of the forum, delete all dhbc.org.au cookies (including test.dh...

I thought this news and announcement section is closed off to general posting. Maybe this permission setting didn't get transferred across to the new forum. No, a step ahead of you. I changed the permissions for the time being so that only moderators can create new topics, but registered users can ...

From what I understand, Bicycle NSW won't cover you for training with our club. I think that our Club Membership is at $10, but you need to join Cycling NSW as well. They have two licenses, a RideIt License, which covers you for club training events, and a Race license, which allows you to race and ...

Training Rides, descriptions needed.
As part of the new website we have a detailed training rides section, which is currently empty. I know that James F did a very good bikely for the Waterfall ride which will be included (a link to it anyway), but it would be good to have a brief accurate description of the 4 main training rides that ...

I entered into this race, but, because of my knee, I need to rest. Which doesn't go well with training for a race. Therefore, does someone else in the club want my spot? I will contact the organisers to see if we can make the change. Don't worry about reimbursing me for it, it was only a $25 entry f...

Proposed Training ride 21st May - Postponed
I know that last month after the cancelled ANZAC day ride, I suggested doing the Balmoral Hills ride on the 21st May. However, because of the knee injury that I currently have, I will not be doing that ride. I think that I need to spend a significant amount of time off the bike to get over this inju...

Another one to consider is a Cervelo Team Soloist, that is what I have. Full aluminum with a carbon fork, can double as a time trial bike as well. Cervelo also offer limited life time warranty. It is a surprisingly comfortable frame, but it is compact. I had a look at KOM Cyclery (http://www.komcycl...
