L'Eroica events in Italy and in the USA are pretty strict on what's allowed to be ridden. Turning up with anything Ergopower would be a big no-no in Italy, as would anything with "Velocity" written on it... Any guidelines available for this event?

TPG is a good reliable service. I use it. Your speed for ADSL 2+ will depend on how far away from the exchange your house is. The support from the Phillipines is also pretty painful if you need it, but it rarely (if ever) goes down, so you don't need to worry about support that often.

Re: A habit of crashing and now I am scared!
Lots of technical talk on tyre grip here. Not too much info which might help Dougie. Here's my $0.02. The key to controlling a bike is to be relaxed. If you are relaxed, your back and arms act like shock absorbers, smoothing out the bumps, and potentially any traction loss evnts too in the unlikely ...

Re: Advice Welcome. Riding Accident. Bike Destroyed
Hmmm. 3 things: 1) A steel frame would be rideable after an impact like that, although possibly some fork trail adjustment. I recommend steel. 2) There is plenty of data that shows that bike paths are more dangerous than roads. Collisions and falls are much more common, and broken bones es...

Hey Christian. Good to see the project is up and running. Not sure if you know this, but Zona is essentially a new name for what Columbus used to call Nivacrom. It's great tubing for building bikes, and vastly superior to that old SL or 531 "junk". My Colnago Tecnos bikes are made from the...

If it's on Ebay it can be yours, although at $830 USD with 2 days to go, it won't be cheap. This one clearly shows Ugo De Rosa's personal touch, which explains the price, although the repaint is a bit sloppy if you ask me...

This video is clearly taking the piis. It shows the opposite of everything they say. E.g. it say's you're going to have to wear lycra, and then shows guys riding in jeans. If you didn't work it out, the obvious clue was the Alan Jones reference, as he starts swearing at SMH journalists. It's clearly...

Alex, I reckon it's going to be easier to ride to Ashfield, instead of catching a train from Stanmore.
Not considering the later option anymore. I'll meet you at Ashfield Station at 1.00 after a refreshing breezy ride of a few flat kms.
All other train catchers, see you at Ashfield at 1pm.

There are indeed track works between Kingsgrove and East Hills. East Hills is 20km from Marrickville so we could potentially ride there. The Wolli Creek train will be at East Hills at 1:31pm. Suggestions anyone? To avoid the trackwork, you just avoid the Airport and East Hills line. Instead you tak...

Re: Time for a charity thing
Lindsay and I talked about the 24 hour velodrome thingy a while back. Thoughts were along the lines of a 24 hour derby above the blue line on the velodrome, and possibly other shorter races taking place below the blue line (like pursuits, etc.) There would also be infield entertainment, with a swap ...

Rear wheels should be built with the outside spokes pulling which is opposite to what is in jobst Brandt's book To start this pattern off first spoke goes into the second on the right of the spoke hole. I have no idea what that means. All spokes pull, regardless of the way they are facing, or the s...

Re: TT position - What do i need to do?
Here's what I reckon. The arms look high, but not too far off the right Anteroposterior position. The head and shoulders are too far back, and if they can be moved forward by straightening the back, then everything should fall into place. Back straightening will be improved by lowering the stem. Ord...

It's an appropriate name for an electronic drivetrain. When I'm on a long ride, I often find my thumb and index finger get really fatigued. It's then that I am so glad that they have finally created a system to save me so much effort on my tired digits. Really happy to lug a heavy battery and cablin...

Re: Wheels
No sarcasm. It would seem that lots of people have reported dodgy wheels from TWE. I, personally, have seen a wheelset built by them where the hub was a fake. The hub was supposed to be a high-end brand hub, but was actually a cheap knock off from Asia. When the hub failed, and the owner took it to ...
