You can loosen them off a little. They will loosen over time though. I did the same with my first set of cleats. They were fine.

Ben, I just bought speedplay pedals but I am not liking so far! Do they loosen up a bit? I'm looking for an entry level track bike for bashing around Tempe. I ride a Medium Giant Road Frame (54cm) and not so sure on track frame size but most undersize?

I've got no plans on racing track so it won't need to be fast or pretty.

All RBCC Grades start @3pm. You can pick your grade but default is C Grade normally which they will insist on putting you. I'm sure your fitness would be ok for B Grade but perhaps good to get used to cornering, etc when not right on the limit.
