Yea, FSA TT crankset looks bloody awesome! Although it is a whole kilogram as compared to 650g Easton EC90, but I got it at similar price.

I can change the gearing at the cassette init?
Possibly, but I don't think you are going to enjoy riding it on anything but flat ground. I would avoid it.

What wheels do you have?? No point having aero cranks with shallow rim wheels... You may even want a disc depending on the amount of corners, technical aspects of the course, and the prevailing winds. I agree - cranks are a long way down the list of things to spend money on to make aero improvement...

+1.

I don't think there are 11/28 cassettes but something in the 13/27 range. Even if there is, the gaps b/n cogs would be getting too large for racing and in particular TTs.
The PG-1070 comes as an 11-28 - whether his rear derailleur supports it is another question.

If you are happy with the crankset on your current bike I would go with that. I switched from a compact (50/34) to a standard (53/39) and find it has a much better top end and more usuable bottom, as I never went to my smallest gear but would often find myself at the top. The dread Torpedo 7 impulse buy virus strikes again! And I, for one, look forward to bathing in second hand sweat from numerous unidentified sources :) Well, it isn't often you are presented with a standards approved TT helmet for less then $100. I imagine they'll sell out pretty fast once word get...

Just purchased one. Hard to beat at that price and I'm sure I'll find a use for it some day - even if it is just to loan out.

Without a Standard Australia sticker, it would get picked on by the commissaires. Not sure of the requirements for triathlons though.
The helmet has the Standards Australia sticker - I just confirmed it with T7 using their live chat.

$198 / year is the Masters fee. The cost of an elite licence is more ($250 I think). Now is a good time to buy as it should cover you for next year too (check with them though).

According to the ACMA guidelines, Channel 10 only has to respond to written complaints - email does not count.

See the second post on this page for the canned ACMA response-

I'd buy one or two, only because you can always have more bidons. These days I've been using the Camelbak podium bottles as I like their ability to lock for transport and no need to open the top for drinking. Only dowside is they are a bit expensive. Before I started using them, my favourite was thi...

Yep, there's an earlier post by me on p. 15 - the average for that period was 298W. In terms of the average power it's pretty much what I've been doing on my slow solo rides down there for the past few weeks but today's ride was much tougher and the normalised power number is a better one to use to...

Went on my first ride on the north side today. Started at Brookvale and rode up to Church Point, did a loop through the national park and Akuna Bay anti-clockwise before riding back to Brookvale the same way. The wind was *killer*. I get blown around so much. Only averaged 29.5 km/h though I didn't ...

We have a very small number of racing members (66) with a high track participation. It is based on total racing members, not just those that turn up to raw.

Apparently because of their speed and low position, cyclists are ideal to spot road irregularities and clear out human traffic en-route. Also in situations where they encounter trouble (crashes are known to happen), assistance can be provided promptly. For the full 42km, they can achieve 27-28km/h ...

Interesting. I just checked the calibrated rollout and it is 2088mm for my wheel. I measured ~2010, so it seems reasonable due to the auto calibration taken with my weight on the bike and associated compression of the wheel. Next time we are riding we should match speed and compare numbers. My times...
