Champ Sys SRAM National Cyclocross Series 29-30/9

I know a few years back Simon had a go at trying to get some CX races happening at Tempe, but came up against some approval problems. Fast forward a few years and we're about to finish of the first ever National Cyclocross Series. Entries have now opened for the support events at the Final rounds so...

Re: Best Bike for around $650

Wander in to your favourite bike shop and see what hard tails they have. Giant, Merida, Apollo, Malvern Star, GT & Mongoose all have reasonable offers in this range.

At this end spending a little more money will give you a lot more performance, especially with regard to the forks.

I'd expect this to be a very easy going and friendly event. For a lot of people there it will be much more about remembering Jimmy than a race.

Rob P and myself will be riding there the day before via a rather convoluted route, and maybe riding back... We will see :)
So it seems! What's this maybe riding back?

I spotted Rob Parbery as he flew past me on his singlespeed cyclocross bike moments from the finish line - bloody well done.

I like to rotors, I wonder how well they'll work.
If you're going only for look they work very well, if you want use them for stopping not so much.

Re: BHP Appin 400

Appin is a hard track to eat and drink on, there's only really a couple of places where you have the chance to and they are both pretty short. For some last minute training before the Scott 24hr there is the Singletrack Mind Race 8 hour at Appin on the 25th September . http://www.chocolatefoot.com.a...

Re: RAW STARTS THIS FIDAY 25/06/2010!!!

People told me to watch for a split, but I hadn't competed in a team race before and I my legs got the better of my brain... The following italian pursuit, i was reportedly allowed to close the gap and then drop back, but didn't hear a word Crafty said over the PA. Lessons learnt. (Sorry Parbs) No ...

Keeping Going...

You might like to check out the WSMTB 4 Hour Series... First one is a twilight race so you'll need lights for the last hour or so.

Nice effort Simon, you had a few Canberra locals scrambling to the results to make sure your lap times weren't quicker than theirs. The interim results have you as doing 9 laps although with 2 red laps in a row.
