Re: Rust repairer needed - seeking suggestions

The battery box and hole in the panel is easy enough. The hole at the edge of the panel isn't as easy. First step is to find out how much metal needs to be cut away. Take all the paint off the sections in question with a sanding wheel or if you are really careful an angle grinder with a flap wheel. ...

I agree with Rhys that in this price bracket just go with the one that looks the best unless you can pick something up on sale. Wheel weight (rim weight) doesn't actually affect your efficiency much once you get up to speed. The difference it does make is accelerating and decelerating. Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

I don't think the solution is to just add another bunch. We don't have so many riders that we need five bunches if they are more even in size. What this comes down to is the middle two bunches. The 28's don't want to go up to the middies because they are too fast and the middies don't want to go up ...

Re: Adventure Ride- Oaks Trail MTB 10th Mar 5.48am Central T

As I've been talked into this, I'll give you the run down on what to expect. The Oaks fire trail runs from Woodford to Glennbrook in the Blue mountains. Its approximately 25km and I'd call it mostly down hill. Now my definition of down hill may be different to yours but it does start further up the ...

I did think about this as well as respacing the rear triangle for a 120mm wheel but ended up leaving it as is. I think its a 127mm spaced frame, don't want to bend it now as I may crack the paint. Changing to track drop outs may not have ended up looking all that good as I doubt they would have been...

The price is definitely right, the build, not the best but even paying someone here to get the spoke tension right you'll still come out way ahead. I would highly recommend Chris King hubs, they should last around 15 years if looked after. Also the Velocity A23 rims are great, the HED Belgium is a s...

I find I train much harder not wearing a HR monitor. You don't look down and say to yourself, "I'm dying" just because you are above your lactic threshold (~85% max HR) or when you look down and it's a little too close to 100%. I stopped using it at the track, now on the road. My suggestio...

Re: RUBY THE ROOKIE U/15 JUNIOR

The chain line is important if you want things to last and you also want a quiet bike. The disadvantage of a 130 BCD crack is for larger chain rings it isn't going to be as stiff as the chain ring edge is further from the bolts, although unless Ruby is a sprinter she is not going to notice this just...

Re: RUBY THE ROOKIE U/15 JUNIOR

Not being able to get a small enough chain ring is probably due to 144 BCD cranks. You may need to go to 130 BCD road cranks. I'd look at going with a larger sprocket, 48T chain rings are the most common size, 48/17 will give you 5.92m roll out. Generally you change chain rings for changing gears as...

It's never quite that simple. The actual wheel diameter will depend on things like tyre brand and tyre pressure. The commonly accepted circumference of a 700x23c is 2096mm, so the diameter is 667mm. If in doubt just measure it.

I wouldn't feel to bad about being dropped by the fasties today, Matt decided we were not going fast enough, so powered up the Kingsway with the rest off us just hanging off the back single file. Don't know what the average ended up being, but it hurt.

Except perhaps the fasties, who seem to be getting caught by the middies on a fairly regular basis..... Just sayin'. ;)
As Tim said, when no one moves up each group gets faster, so if the fast middies would man/women up and move up then the fasties wouldn't get caught.

Well if you cast your mind back to when we went to the 4 bunch arrangement the middies was an average of 30km/h. The pace has increased, I'd say in the last year. I will admit the fasties speed on Sunday was not super quick, but that is the nature of the bunch, it very much depends on who is there o...

I agree with Weiyun, I see no point in riding the actual course. Its a terrible road surface. Its not a matter of learning where the pot holes are more like where they are not, I like to describe this course as every now and again you'll hit a smooth patch.
