Yeah well, what can I say, I forgot that hill. Mind you I had my chain on the small ring. It was a good ride overall. A few women did their first ever 100km ride which was pretty good to be a part of. A chap rode alongside with a video and camera. I did my best to look moody and focus on the middle ...

No reason why there can't be two rides btw - if some want to leave at 6am, and there's a few of you, why don't you do that?

But for traffic reasons, I'll avoid the stretch between Bundeena turnoff and Loftus with the peak hour traffic and go at 5:30 for that reason.

Another solo through RNP - I'm getting used to this! No cars at all up until Bundeena turnoff then - peak hour! Consensus is that an earlier start will avoid the stream of cars needing to be in Sutho at 9am.

Re: Dulwich Hill spotted

Spotted Michael C riding up George Street in the city about 11:30am this morning. Would have yelled out "Dulwich Hill spotted" but my on-the-spot risk assessment prevented me. This was a good call, he might have looked at me instead of either of the two buses he was threading and ended up ...

Re: Eleri elected to Board of Cycling Australia

Thanks everyone. DHBC is a great club and it's been great to be able to talk about it and bask in the reflected glory. After all, it's everyone's efforts that help make that story. Yeah that's great but what perks do you get? e.g. free trip to inspect how the Tour de France is administered. Pretty s...

Wonderful sea of red, great to see that DHBC contributed one quarter of the participants and that you all did really well on the day.

Thanks to everyone who organised and turned up. It's just so wonderful to see the juniors out and racing in numbers.

Here are the DHBC results for the 110km - minus people who didn't say they were DHBC. Congrats Tai - the only DHBC member to finish in under 3 hours. Simon you needed to be 26 secs faster to achieve that milestone! All up we had 28 DHBC people named in the 70 and the 110. Great turn up all round. Ra...

And perhaps look at the course - the first half is all up hill. Then turns around and comes back on the same route, plus a flat loop at the end. If you are looking at times, only look at the times from last year as it was at Nowra. The previous years were on other courses. In a TT, the time for the ...

B2B ride reports 2013

Sometimes big events like B2B can be challenging to ride because of the different abilities, speeds and consistency of other riders. Last time I did the 165km ride and did long stretches by myself and no real bunches forming for much of it. Or when they did I caught up with them, and they were slowe...

A top morning out at West Head, perfect conditions for racing and people turned up in numbers. Unfortunately MWCC ran out of numbers and some DHBC people who wanted to race, didn't get the opportunity. Eugen and Matt (a new member) both were sorry to miss out but rode the course anyway. Re: How Fasties Works: Further to the April Newsletter

The reason we changed the rotation for C25s and C28s was because rotating off the front as the fasties do was clearly unsafe. People coming off the front especially in the C25s weren't sufficiently skilled to roll off safely. We often had people on the wrong side of the centre line and getting stuck...
