I've always wondered about cyclocross. Is a regular road bike frame suitable for cyclocross conversion?

Stage 8

Great stage. Great to see Mayo doing well. Valverde is looking solid, and Cadel Evans is still in there. I'm not sure about Astana's tactics though. Getting Kloden out of contention to save Vino a few seconds. That was a bit silly. Must also say Rogers crash was very dissapointing. Great chance ever...

I am gonna have to go: 1- Andreas Kloden Carlos Sastre Leipheimer Cadel Evans Alexander Vinokourov Alejandro Valverde Why Kloden? I would argue that this time, there is a big chance that Kloden will not lose big time in the mountains like he did in 2006 when he stayed behind with the Peloton as deci...

Parental Leave

It is recommended that people on parental leave build a bike. http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa310/fouadaswad/ I am still debating with myself whether to use the ergo shifters (Campag Chorus 8speeds) or make it a retro style with downtube friction shifters (with Campag Record Shifters) I have al...

My Olmo Bike: advice please

Hi all Here are the photos of an Olmo Scatto steel frame, which I put through a paint job. http://s196.photobucket.com/albums/aa310/fouadaswad/ I bought it a complete bike with an 8-speed campanolo Chorus drivetrain. I intend this bike as a trainer bike. What I'd like to get your opinion on is wheth...

Indeed. Hence the trainer, easy access to training whenever i have a spare hour. I have never heard of the Elite. As for the TACX, my understanding is that they make outstanding trainers. However, I think that they only make magnetic trainers. The TACX trainers, I am told, are fine machines (quiet, ...

For this particular trainer, the US dealer will charge me USD275 shipping, which makes it more expensive than buying locally. Mail order for the KK is not an option. Yep, parenthood has certain effects on your leisure activities. Or you'll just have to wait until they are old enough to ride wi...

I need a Trainer Now

Hi all Straight to the point. I now have no doubt whatsoever that I no longer have a life of my own, so I will need a trainer to sneak in some training. I would like a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine, but I am frustrated that, while all over the world this trainer is selling for around $330 (AUD390 - AUD4...

Re: "I ride a lonely road" sung by Red & Black

Does becoming a dad two days prior qualify one for an exclusion from this BOP?
Guys, you are just all fairweather riders I'm afraid. Although James F and C you are exlcuded from this bunch of pussies, due to your injury status.

Crash at Sutherland.

The person who crashed is Eddy, one of the riders I brought a while back on one of our Sunday ride. What I have been able to collect from a brief conversation with his brother, George,...

When I said it'll scare off new riders is not meant to be a negative nor is the time the issue. For new riders, I don't think they would be fit enough to handle all the RNP climbs. I know that it took me a few months of riding to get used to Waterfall alone and it would have been suicide to jump fo...

No, the final sprint is not a major problem if you don't participate. James M and I didn't participate in the final sprint on Sunday because it was not suitable. When it is suitable I will participate. What I'm saying is use common sense.[/quote] In some occasions, by the time you have realised the ...
