Topic: New Chain - Is it worth buying an Ultegra v 105?

Wouldn't have thought so - I used to prefer to save the money and replace the chain/cassette more frequently. Re the 6600 vs 6700 thing. the new 6700 chain is unidirectional and came out with the new Ultegra 6700 groupset. I'd guess it'd work on any bike but dunno whether there'd be any discernable ...

Bike came out reasonably unscathed which is good... Thought I'd need to replace the right lever - still working but lots of road rash - but then worked out that I could get it all clean by doing a Frankenstine swapping some parts from my wet weather commuter so that saves a chunky spend. I had new w...

Hey Beanzy Thanks for filling in thre blanks - litersally! As I said my recollections of most of Sunday are patchy. Sorry to hear others came down but glad nobody seriously hurt. Yep - you'll see me around asap - Dr says six weeks to heal fully so while I might be lucky enough to get back on the bik...

Ah yes and I would be the guy in question...:-) Bit of a nasty spill really. Two ribs broken near my spine so that makes walking, sitting, breathing etc. lots of fun! Sore shoulder and hip, one very swollen finger and bark off in various places. No recollection of the crash itself having been knocke...

Hey guys I'm out this Sunday with Mothers Day and all but it'd be good to hook up on other weekends. Maybe we should exchange mobile numbers so on a Saturday (or whenever) we can txt to see what the others are up to n the following Sunday morning? Rather than put a mobile number in here I'll IM both...

Tim As you saw me the other day on my Street-fire SSX01. I think the BMCs are great. Mine is the alloy frame but it is very stiff and I find the ride is fine too. I am sure the Race-Master would be better. Go and talk to the people at Cranks. Michael at the Balmain store is very knowledgeable and w...

Yeah one of the guys I do my weekday rides with does the Waratahs (pretty much) every Sunday and raves about it. I'm gonna give it a go - probably on Sunday May 17th - next weekend is a no fly zone for me being mothers day! :-)

One question - for members like myself who hold a current recreational license do cycling NSW offer an "upgrade" to a race license (i.e. an incremental charge rather than needing to buy outright)?

Just reading the posts above on brand options and thought I'd throw my 0.02c in fwiw... I've got several Nalini jerseys and I like the quality a lot. They outfit a number of the pro-tour teams. I also own some Santini stuff (bib knicks) and the quality is good too - IMO a notch up on Nalini quality....

Tomorrow morning's ride - fasties?

Hi all I resalise it's not the usual practice to check on numbers for Sunday to Waterfall but I thought tomorrow might be a special case given the unusual combination of heat and SMOKE! So I'm wondering how many other fasties are planning on riding given the conditions? FWIW - I'm in if there's suff...
