Bike accident with pedestrian. Advice welcome.

Hi,

I'm Prashanth. I've been a member of DHBC since late last year and have been riding mostly on the Saturday morning eastern hills rides.

I had an accident with a pedestrian today, on my way back from work.

I've read the following threads on this forum.
http://www.dhbc.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4786
http://www.dhbc.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2171
However, they deal mostly with an accident involving a motorist and a cyclist.

I'd appreciate any advice for my situation.

Regards,
Prashanth

Hi Prashanth,

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope the pedestrian is OK.

The only advice I can offer is to give Jonathon a ring who is referenced in those two threads:
Jonathan Coyle – Senior Associate
Level 8, 299 Elizabeth Street Sydney NSW 2000
PO Box 958 Darlinghurst NSW 1300
DX 11529 SYDNEY DOWNTOWN
T 02 9321 1000 F 02 9264 9605 W http://www.masonblack.com.au

He can at least advise you on your best course of action based on your interaction with the ambo's and police if they were there?

Jo

Nasty area with a bit of speed in that section. Needs to be really defensive.

This is indeed a sad situation given who the pedestrian / jogger is. I hope she makes a full recovery.
