Bathurst racing and sportif this weekend

Surprised not to see a thread on this.

Entries are still open for the Saturday NSW Hill climb champs and the Bathurst Crit. I suspect they will be closed sometime today.

The Sportif on Sunday is still open and its available to a ride-it license, race license not required.

I'm only doing the hill climb this year. The sportif is way too dangerous and unfortunately the gold wave is limited to 120.

On the previous website version the user could see which club and age group participants are in. Has anyone figured out how to find out those details?

mmm... if I can't leave with the front group, then I'll give the sportif the flick.

Why don't you call Dean Woods and grill him about the sportif

I'm in for hill climb, crit, and sportif (as is Taku). Mr Bolton and son are doing the same. Juniors are only allowed to do the 70km, which will undoubtedly be won by a U17 with bike handling skills...

I've entered the hill climb, which I assume I'll suck in. Crit will depend on grading. Haven't decided on the sportif

Simon, for the hill climb, am I over geared on 39-23. I do have a 25 cassette I could swap on

It's like Artillery Hill with a bit more of a false flat at the start.

Strava segment.

Entries still open. You can enter on the day and pay a late fee. I just called up cyclingNSW. $20 for late fee.
Still don't know which one I want to enter.

mmm... doesn't look like Mike territory, seems to go to 14.9% at one place, might go the 25

Seems to be a bit of semi flat at the top, perhaps a strong rider can reel in some off the metres they lost to the lighter rider, if they are close enough

You might find 39-25 a bit tough in some points.

I'm running 27... However you probably have more leg power to cope with 25.

I do have 110 BCD, but it's a bit late to change the small ring

I don't want to give too much away ;) but that stretch you would only gain a handful of seconds, there are plenty of segments before that point where a heavier rider would lose more seconds than can be gained at the end.

Get the Power to weight matched with those lightweight riders and my statement becomes invalid

The whole thing is academic anyway, last year the fastest time was recorded in M5 :(

It's pretty scary what some masters riders can do.

Would anyone be able to fit Bro and his bike in with them there and back or in accomodation? We will cover any costs.
