Berry Weekend - march 29/30
I'm thinking of doing this:
http://www.rideandseek.com/events/berry
It's run by my mates from Ride & Seek, Who Ted & I toured with in Spain & France, so I know it will be impeccable, plus a lot of fun.
I thought it might be a good chance for those of you looking for a bit more of a challenge, but not necessarily wanting too much pace. Touring mode! But with a decent climbs in and out of Kangaroo Valley, so not soft. The 130km can be reduced to 100km if you don't do the optional bits.

What Eleri said Stuart. Beechworth is fantastic but way too far for me for a weekend. I have a rule that if the drive is longer than the ride then it's not acceptable (plane trips, on the other hand, are a totally separate kettle of fish).
And Michele - do it! I'm going to look into Saturday accommodation in Bright pronto. Watch this space.

I'd love to do this but it's right after Vietnam, so I suspect I'll have buckleys of getting a day pass.

I had to walk one of those hills out of Kangaroo Valley. So I'm out.
Hmm, Google says Berry is 139k away .... Anyway, I'm entered for Beechworth and having a 4 day weekend; really looking forward to closed roads riding. Recommend the Berry Sourdough Cafe for a great feedWhat Eleri said Stuart. Beechworth is fantastic but way too far for me for a weekend. I'm intending on going, and probably taking/torturing Taku on the Challenge. He doesn't know that yet. Checked with Dylan at Ride and Seek about the appropriateness of the 33km cruise for kids, and he suggested an alternative 20km out 'n' back from Kangaroo Valley – so likely the whole family will ride somewhere, at some point, on the day. Now to form a team...

I'm interested.
I presume we'd be driving down Sunday early, seeing Sunnyboys at the Enmore Saturday night

is DHBC going to have a team or 2 for the Berry ride?
I am happy to join, have ridden the Sunday 25's and recently the 28's
in past have completed Alpine classic 130's
and a couple of flattish 200's, not a fast hill climber though

Start a list! If the people who've indicated interest (or anyone else) jump on, and you make it to four, then all good. Otherwise Sam & Dylan will hook you up with some people. It's worth asking around at the cafe too - lots of people won't know about it.

The road out from Kangaroo Valley to Tallowa Dam is great. Very little traffic if any and 25km of softly undulating road in good condition. The descent at the end (and the climb out) is invigorating.I'm intending on going, and probably taking/torturing Taku on the Challenge. He doesn't know that yet. There's also another great road off this one that takes you round the back of the mountain and down to Nowra thru the rainforest, without the traffic. You can turn off to Bundanon and get some kulcha. Might be a bit far for the littlies tho'.
