Here the pics of the boys post ride...
Grant was pretty happy with his ride, whilst Adrian just enjoyed the ride! The angle of the camera and the inverting slope of the velodrome makes us all look a little short...

Man im ok for 2 laps but seriously feel gone in the third, im hoping to improve my third and first times heaps, once i know i can go the whole three better ill put more into the first, which i can definately speed up, i just worry about the third if i do.

Admittedly that was fun...although i am still recovering from the huge effort.
I suspect i was under geared at 92...what were you all riding.

I don't think you could really blame gearing on this one. There was only about ten pedal strokes of cadence separating us all. About a four inch spread. I think fitness is more the defining factor. On 92 inch you can go well under 1:10 with the fitness....

I wasnt blaming gearing alone...my crapness is multi-factorial!
I was just thinking about how i could get that extra 7% i would need to go under 1:20. I recon i could turn the same cadence at 96" that should get me 4% or dead on Tims time.
But you are right, if you can average a cadence of 105 instead of 95 it makes a lot of difference...more heart rate intervals, less sprinting....now where is my HRM....
Cheers
Grant

Looking at the times, all riders slower in the 3rd lap by about the same amount, so maybe your better than think Tim.Man im ok for 2 laps but seriously feel gone in the third, im hoping to improve my third and first times heaps, once i know i can go the whole three better ill put more into the first, which i can definately speed up, i just worry about the third if i do.
yeah, I think it would be great to do some little club events etc. because I don't get a chance to race that much I really like to have some benchmark as to how well I'm riding and what I can aim for. Its harder to do this when you don't have any objective measure.
Having a club track championships is a great idea, the Waratah Vets CC for example hire Dunc Gray for an arvo and award medals across grades on aggregate results over a 500m TT, 2000m pursuit and a 5000m scratch race.
I'm sure DHBC could do the same at Tempe over 'elite' distances and perhaps a sprint event as well.

We could do;
the pursuit, kilo, sprint (flying 200s) as timed events
& a scratch race, points race & keirin as bunch events if you want as a club championships for the fun of it?
