Hi,
I was looking at buying a set of areo carbon wheels, the best I could find for an acceptable price was the Dura-Ace clincher 50mm 7850 from O/S. Reading on another site they talked about having to pay Customs Duty probably around $150 is this true and what else should I be worried about by buying O/S ?

Also I was having trouble finding any reviews on these wheels so if anyone could point me in the right direction there that would be great.

Another also if anyone has the phone number for that bike shop TWE who builds carbon wheels that would be good too, and if your interested the place I was thinking about buying these wheels from was Chain Reaction Cycles for $1307 delivery free (sorry don't know how to do a hyper link yet).

No custom duty/tax if the value is under A$1000. More expensive wheels will attract a percentage based fee from the customs.

Otherwise search the net and find the best deal.

Doubt it.

Postage will basically be double, and probably more than the GST.

The GST will be payable on the total order, including postage if the value of the goods exceeds $1,000 but I think it may still be cheaper. Factor in ~$50 for customs processing too.

BTW, I have shipped packages of around $3,000 into Australia, and customs have let them through without pinging me for anything. Sometimes you just get lucky!

Anyway, you need to crunch the numbers...
