Hi everyone,

Last Saturday I got a briefing on World Youth Day as part of my St John work. I have heard that there would be a ban on vehicles entering Centennial Park on the 19th. I wasn't able to get more information on any impact on cycling. I was riding through Centennial Park last night and noticed a sign saying "World Youth Day 19 - 20 July No Cycling No Camping) . Today I checked the Centennial park website and it looks like Saturday Slowies will be safe according to the web site "Cyclists will be able to use Centennial Park until midday on the Saturday. Following this time, cycling restrictions will be in place. Cyclists are requested to adhere to any notifications or instructions provided in the interests of safety to both cyclists, event workers and other park visitors."
The park is going to be used as an overflow area for Randwick and a lot of the infastructure is going up now. The rest of the information is on the web site:www.centennialparklands.com.au/activiti ... _july_2008

I've checked with my dad (who's a preacher) and cycling is definately allowed in the bible : )

Now, as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel upon the earth beside the living creatures. One for each of the four of them. As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction, their appearance was like the gleaming of a chrysolite, and the four had the same likeness being as it were a wheel within a wheel. The four wheels had rims and they had spokes, and their rims were full of eyes round about. And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them and when the living creatures went, the wheels went with them, for the living creature was in the wheel. (Ezekiel 1)

It is...

And he called to him the twelve, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them authority over the unclean automobiles. He charged them to take nothing for their journey except a spare tube; tyre lever, pump, and money for coffee in their jersey, and to wear good quality cycling shoes....

(Mark 6:7-8, New Cyclists translation)

Monty Pithon had a good joke on, I think it was the meaning of life. The catholic family had run out of money so was sending about 20 kids to the knackers yard. Across the road the prodi's were saying thank goodness we are allowed to use those rubber things and after a bit of discussion, it was changed to "not that we have sex anyway but if we did, we could use those rubber things"

Though the best catholic jokes were from Dave Allan, whom is a catholic himself.

Some how, prodi's aren't as funny, must be due to those rubber things.

Was just using Dave Allen as an example on how TV programs have deteriorated when chatting with a relative over the weekend. Why don't they bring him back on TV? Really miss it.

Comedy has its day I guess, perhaps we will see him on TVS when the copyright runs out.

Thanks

If Centennial is stuffed in any shape or form, then I would just ride down to Port Botany and do the loop. Another common training route.
