Time Trialling is the race of truth where one races against themselves, a challenge of your strength and endurance.

For 2015 I'm planning to find out what Time Trails are available for our participation and post them here

ATTA - first Sunday of each month
Calga Peats Ridge, which is north of Sydney, south of Gosford. The event runs regardless of the weather. Sign-on from 7am, first rider 8am

The dates are Jan 4, Feb 1, Mar 1, Apr 5, May 3, Jun 7, Jul 5, Aug 2, Sep 6, Oct 4 (TBC), Nov 1, Dec 6

For ATTA you do not need a race license, a silver ride it license is sufficient

MCCC - May and August
Macarthur Collegians Cycling Club (MCCC) run a time trail once a year at Stevies Forest Road, Oakdale, not too far from Campbelltown. MCCC also run a Hill Climb up Old Razorback Rd, Cawdor which is also a time trial.

The dates are not up for 2015. 2014 dates are;
ITT - Sunday 18 May 2014, 08:00 - 10:00
Hill Climb - Sunday 03 August 2014, 08:00 - 10:00

CNSW
On the Cycling NSW calandar there are a number of events and I'll update this when 2015 is published
Jindabyne Hill Climb Mar 21
NSW Hill Climb Championships Mar 29
NSW U19 Road & Club Time Trial Championships May 16 - Juniors
NSW Club Team Time Trial Championships July 18
NSW Elite Individual Time Trial Championships Sep 26
Masters Individual Time Trial Championships Sep 26

I'm on the lookout for any others that may be out there, though I think that's about it within Sydney commuting distance

Nice work Mike!
Perhaps you should pencil in a new date for the DHBC TT from Dec. June or July would be good as that's slap in the middle of the season, just after the State Titles (masters) and just before the TTT.

BTW happy New Year!

Both June and July is clear of any events on both the NSW and Aust calendars, though June is the day after the Sydney Road Titles

ATTA is on at Calga tomorrow Sun 3rd Jan. I think that Mark and Amy are going, could be wrong

There's some club stuff but not near Sydney;
- Balana Masters Cycle Club Individual Handicap http://ballinamasterscycle.com.au/event ... icap-race/
- Orana Veterans Cycle Club http://oranavets.org.au/2014-winter-races/ there's results for a 16k time trail

Despite CNSW showing 3 days for the NSW masters champs 23rd - 25th May 2015 the info that has come my way shows NSW masters champs being 2 days 23rd and 24th May 2015 and the same info confirms the masters ITT to be running with the elite and U19 ones 26th & 27th Sept. The location is still unknown.

Mike, from cycling nsw website: nsw masters to be held in griffith

The other ITT mentioned in sept would be the masters "invitational" run alongside the elite ITT champs in breadalbane I reckon. What is confusing is which one is the state champs ITT medals due to the naming of both events.

The info on the web site does not match what has been sent to the commissionaires

I went to Calga in Jan and PB'ed despite the fact I had a mechanical up blood hill. So definitely going again in Feb and I'll PB it again easy.

Also found these: http://www.bathurstcyclingclub.com.au/i ... /site/road
They have club ITT's starting in Feb

These are some ones based in VIC and SA:
http://gplama.blogspot.com.au/p/time-tr ... rials.html

Also how local do you want some ITTs Michael? What's the chances of our club running one? could just use the kurnell strip since that has been done before.

Good finds Jonathan

Looks like Bathurst has just the one on the 9th Feb http://www.bathurstcyclingclub.com.au/i ... r_planning

That time trial calendar for Vic and SA is awesome, wish there was one for NSW, its pretty much what I was hoping this thread would be.

There's a lot of work involved in organising our own time trial, there would need to be a lot of interest before I proposed it to the committee

That's the way it goes sometimes Jonathon, sometimes the bod needs a rest.

On another note the Track team pursuit 150+ team has fallen apart, so I'm available for any other team be that 150+ or sub 150

Calga is on again tomorrow. Its on regardless of weather, which doesn't look the best at the moment.

Remember heading indoors isn't always the best option...

It's important to know you can't just turn up anymore, you have to register ahead of time.

According to Chris, it's not mandatory, only if you want to secure a spot. Michael helped me clarify this too.

I really want to go, but I'm out of practice of Rule 9. I will be doing cautious 20km/h on the descents which defeats the purpose of racing. haha

There was a communication that confused a few and they have since put out a clearer communication. Entries are allowed on the day, if you want to reserve a time slot, you need to pre-enter.

There are 18 pre-entries for tomorrow. Somehow I suspect there won't be a huge queue tomorrow.

It certainly was confusing then because I thought it was quite clear! They have also set up a dog of way to register. Hopefully they find something a bit simpler.

Looking at the calendar I've realised that the best date to run the DHBC championship is Sunday 3rd May.

Its a little short notice so I'm seeking your feedback

Calga is on again this Sunday and with the NSW TTT champs and the DHBC ITT champs in July, you should consider heading out.

Also with the DHBC ITT champs, there's 2 completions based on the 25k route;
1. Age/Gender based handicap
2. Handicap compared to you PB
So if you haven't previously completed a 25k ITT (note 25k) at Calga, then you've halved your chance of victory and won't enjoy the cuisine at Pie N the sky afterwards

For those wanting to do it as solo training for the TTT you will probably find that the 25k course solo is around the same intensity as 40k in a team, another reason to go for 25k. But if your super keen on 43k, its a great course too

Anyone in need of a lift, I suggest posting here as most of the regulars follow this thread

Calga is on again this Sunday. This is the last one before the Team Time Trail Championships

If you are in a team, then this is a great chance for a 43k team practice. If your in a team but the team isn't going, then I suggest you go for an individual effort, I suggest 25k so to simulate an approximation of team 40k effort.

Also the club individual championships is been tentatively set for first Sunday September, its a handicap championships. I'll set up its own thread once the date is confirmed.

BTW for Calga you do not need a Gold race license, the Silver ride-it license is all you need. Time trailing is the safest racing you can do, Calga has an almost perfect record over the 20 odd years it has been there, its a great place to get yourself started.

And if you need a lift out there, drop a post here, one of the regulars is bound to be able to accommodate you.

Oh, I've emailed the people who run it, it's only once a month and it's in Winter only.
The website says it's mandatory for "Triathlon NSW" licence, but asked about CNSW and they said as long as there is some form of insurance it's fine.
Will update upon any new discoveries.
