Registration for the Concours bike 'beauty contest' will open in January 2015.
Please note: Limited space for entries, probably no more than 60 entries allowed.

Events: Classic bicycle concours competition, Penny Farthing and track bicycle races, vintage bicycle parts and miscellaneous velo stalls, coffee, food, chai and drinks. A bike decoration competition and parade and a free 5m x 5m Jumping Castle for the kids.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
We need volunteers for the Classic Bicycle Show for the following roles:

1. helpers and cooks at one of two food stalls - BBQ, Chai tent and sale of soft drinks.
2. crowd control marshalls
3. helping with the assembling and dismantling of tents
4. sale of raffle tickets
5. gold coin donation collection at entry to velodrome

The core 'Valley Wheeler' group will open the gates for the stall holders and major sponsors at least 2 to 3 hours before official opening at 11am. So 8 or 9am. Will confirm closer to the day.

REGISTRATIONS OPEN FRIDAY 13TH FEBRUARY - for both the 2015 Sydney Classic Bicycle Show CONCOURS and SWAP MEET STALLS - sydneyclassicbicycleshow.eventbrite.com.au

Places for both events are limited, so make sure to sign up early.
Concours event - $10 per entry
Swap Meet Stall - $50 for (3m x 3m space) Established Retailer and $25 for (2m x 2m space) Small Trader.

It might be a good idea to vote early at your local prepoll voting station or apply for a postal ballot, as the Bike Show (28 March) falls on the same day as the NSW state elections! Pick up forms (for the latter) at any pre-poll booth in your neighbourhood.

The organizing committee of the bike show have always been keen to involve the local community. Hence from last year we've made attempts to include local schools in the said event. We were particular keen on encouraging local school bands. However to date we've had no response from schools in the Marrickville area.
Does anyone have suggestions.

St Peters have both a recorder and ukulele outfit, but I'm not sure I could recommend either in good conscience

It doesnt matter what they sound like. More interested in a contact person within their music program maybe.
M'ville Public and High schools are impossible to contact.

I could see if my 14-year-old son's rock band from Dulwich High wants to play? They did a gig at Summer Hill PS last year with a kick-ass cover of The Stooges "I Wanna Be Your Dog".

We are still pretty short on vollies and only 3 days from the event.

Desperately need help in
1. Raffle sales,
2. Head counting at the entrance gate,
3. Food and drink sellers (assisting Karzie and Linda's drink tent and Stuart and co with the BBQ)

Dougie (MC) and Camilla (BBQ) are already down to assist. Everyone else silent. More help needed.

What's the go with dropping off cakes/biscuits and the like? Just bowl up at 11 and fumble thru it, or do you want them down there earlier?

Hi Greg and Sue,

According to the run sheet, the left side gates close at 10.30, so if you want to drop off goodies by car, please get there before then. Or come at 11 and walk down though the tunnel into the infield.

We had a magnificient turnout today.
Our counters said we hit in excess of 700 plus attendees for the day. We even had approx 150 people enter before the official opening at 11am!
The Valley Wheelers, whose brains and brawn made this possible, we're magnificent. Thank you to all our club helpers. Won't try to name all of you for fear of missing someone out.

The organisers of the 2015 Sydney Classic Bicycle Show (held annually since 2013) formally handing over all taking$ to the DHBC Treasurer Andrew Belford on the 13th August 2015.

A grand total of $3,240 was handed over to the DHBC executive committee.

DHBC Valley Wheelers' (L-R), Lizanne Wilmot, Marc Rerceretnam, Ian Carswell, DHBC Treasurer Andrew Belford and John Johnson.

Not included in this figure was 'in-kind' sponsorship equivalent to $930 from minor sponsors of the 2015 Sydney Classic Bicycle Show; Treadlie Magazine, Philip Le Masurier Photography, Peter Bundy Cycles, and OORR jerseys. Most of this was given away as competition and raffle prizes at the event.

Major sponsors of the 2015 event was Ashfield Cycles, Monkeysee and Pedal Pushers.

Unofficial figures for previous years takings (all given directly to the DHBC exec committee) were:
2013 - $1,823
2014 - $2,473
