Here is the schedule for Juniors track training this week:
Activity 1:
Time Trials (2 lap screamer) for all. These will be done in groups, with the other groups completing an alternative activity at the same time, as follows:
- Group A Time trial (all of group A will line up and wait on the fence)
+ Group B Timed slow laps (warm up track)
+ Group C Rollers
- Group B Time trial (all of group B will line up and wait on the fence)
+ Group A Timed slow laps (warm up track)
+ Group C Rollers
- Group C Time trial (all on fence)
+ Group B Line up for Keirin, listen to instructions!
+ Group A Start and stops from fence at warm up track
The time trials will help us refine the groupings and also add other (more fun) activities in the coming weeks.
Activity 2:
Keirin
A motor paced sprint event, where riders start evenly across the pursuit line and jostle for position behind the derny. Each lap the derny picks up pace, however once the derny pulls off, the race to the finish line really begins!
The Derny will be Colin or myself. On a bicycle. It's cleaner.
Group A - All start on fence - 3 laps (Derny will pull off at 1.5 laps)
Group B - All start on fence - 4 laps (Derny will pull off after 2 laps)
Group C - All start on fence - 5 laps (Derny will pull off after 3 laps, probably exhausted)
Activity 3:
Italian Pursuit (I think everyone knows what this is), this will be with all groups, mixed teams.
The Italian pursuit is a fun and inclusive race that is similar to a team sprint. With teams starting from the front and back straights in a held start (we'll be doing off the fence). A team of six riders will be formed, with a rider pulling out every lap to finish. The race is finished with the final rider crosses the finish line.
Activity 4:
Two line motor pace, same as last week, with Colin and myself pretending to be motors.
