SU Velo Racing at Heffron - Open Club Race - Sun 15th April
Fyi: SUVelo are racing at Heffron again this Sunday.
Hi Russell,
I'm pretty keen to do some more racing. If you'd like to ride over together, I'll leave Marrickville Rd Cafe at around 7:15. I'll be riding C grade. I'd probably do D grade if it was my first time there (although there is not that much difference in speed between the two grades). Can talk tactics on the way over. If you're new to crit racing it's best just to follow wheels on you're first race and not try anything too dramatic (breakaway, burn heaps of energy on the front). You may be strong enought to ride faster grades, but get used to cornering, jockying for position, and observing other riders. If you're there on the final lap, try to stay near the front with the top five riders. Usually the sprint starts at around 200m to go.

Definitely interested in racing Sunday also. Never raced before so may ride D grade. Registration starts @ 7am as per the website. How long do you need to allow from Marrickville to Heffron at that time of the morning to be there comfortably?
Cheers,
Noel

Ok girls! time to get into it. i did the last race, and reported it was fast. But while at the cafe i was told that the top 4 finishers (including me) won't be there on sunday, and a couple of the masters will be. So this week is the week! it's anyone's race.
Plus i told Mel (SU Velo Secretary) i would find a DHBC girl to ride in my absence. apparantly the red kit looked good with all the blue

Hi Russell,
Sorry for my late response. Yes I meant 6;15 for 7am sign on. I'm sure you could sign on latter but it's always good to be early in case you get a flat and you can always do some more warm up laps. I'm going to head over at 6:15 to Marrickville Rd Cafe and see if anyone else is coming. I'm not going to race now I'm sick but happy to spectate.
Cheers
Adrian

Congrats to Patrick, Russel and Noel for all getting good results at Heffron Park today. Nice to be in the money! Well done to too Anthony Pham who pulled back the break to set things up for Patrick
SUVelo are doing Sunday morning racing on a monthly basis. Sunday's work a lot better for me so I'm keen to keep going to them. If you're interested, I'm always happy to ride over together. We could meet at Marrickville Road Cafe at 6:30am (same as the other bunches) Sign on is at 7am with racing in D and C grade starting at 7:30am.

Was he wearing a black helmet and riding an un-labled raw carbon bike? If so it was me. I was there when they had the cameras out two weeks ago, was meaning to watch it today but forgot
EDIT: Just had a look at the online video and yeah I saw a few glimpses of myself.

Hi all
The winter season of SUVelo interclub racing has been booked at Heffron for the following dates:
April 15
May 20
June 17
July 15
August 12
Sign on from 7am
7.30am Mens C and D grade
7.30am Women
8.20am Mens A and B grade
Don't forget the points for 1st-5th SUVeloer across the line count towards overall grade champion for the end of the year.
These races are open to all clubs so if you have friends at other clubs, do encourage them to come along and compete.
Please take the time to look at the marshall roster and if you are rostered on for any of these dates please put it in your diary now. If you are unable to help on a particular day, please try to find a suitable replacement (friend/family member/other SUVelo member). If you cannot find a replacement, please let me know at least one week prior to the race so I can find someone to fill in. I will of course send out reminders in the week leading up to each race to remind marshalls of their duties.
Thank you to everyone for helping to make SUVelo racing a success.

Hi Noel,
I can't race this Sunday as I'm looking after Eddy but was I was going to ride out there with Eddy in the cargo bike and enjoy the racing with a coffee :-0 I'll be riding a different route so I'll probably see you there.
Cheers
