Hey every one, i reckon every one should check out the organ donation bits and pieces, its all about telling family and friends etc, if we die young on our bikes, we might as well let some one get some thing out of it! If your family dont know that you wanted it, then they may not make the choice.

Organ donation
Your liver is fine, as long as you don't mince it. Can even split it for more than one recipient.Mind you I don't think anyone would get much use out of my liver!

Also, bone marrow transplants no longer require needles in bones. Now, you just have to be hooked up to a machine that extracts your stem cells ( after a few days of taking hormones) for 5 or so hours. Very easy to join the bone marrow register - just go to the Blood Bank. Luckily for my family, when one of us got leukemia, another member of the family was a good match and he donated his cells. But those who don't have a match in the family are reliant on as many people as possible, worldwide, being on the Bone Marrow Register to increase the chances of finding a match.
AliG that is interesting I didn't know this.
I had a colleague who signed up, I could never get over the needle through the bone part of it. I will sign up, as I already have done for organs etc.

2003 to 2008, so I think I'm in the clear. But my wife calls me a mad cow some times so I don't know....
