Adam....it's fantastic that you have now succumbed to wearing Lycra, riding a road bike, and now going to Waterfall. You are well and truly in!! Don't worry about the the clip stack - every body does it at least once (or twice). I heard you were really strong up the hills today, so well done. Given Eleri, Camilla and I are in the very select club called "The wives, that aren't actually wives (partners have not proposed) that can beat their husbands"...if you start beating Eleri - she will have to be ousted, or get extra hill training.As a newbie I just thought it was worth saying what fun my first waterfall ride was.
I had it built up in my mind as a huge challenge that had to be slowly worked towards. I know that 25s isn't a hard pace - but it was so good to find that all the concern was unnecessary. Really enjoyable, lovely day, great company and support! And thanks Stuart for sitting on the front the entire time!
The main lesson I take away is that it probably isn't recommended to have a clip stack to start your very first time - and quite early too.

I don't think Mike was asking you Lizanne so no need to apologize. Although....what a perfect couple you & Mike would make. Between the 4,200+ km per week you both ride - you probably would never see each other - except on the road. A perfect DHBC matchup. But I guess the boyfriend is a slight roadblock.
