Team Dulwich Hill LOG: Team Ireland vs The world.
The irish team have now hit melbourne, and are ready to take on the world. There will hopefully be fights, tears, emotional black mail, a love story, and maybe even some biting and kicking. We also plan to do some bike racing while we are here.
This is where we plan to write it down. There may also be a video to come.

Ok first training session over and it seems that most of the riders here are pretty fast. We sat on the danish teams paceline before moving onto some maddison prac and some staring in awe at the danish team persuit team! The uk team jumped on in the next session and man they are a daunting site to see! Seriously they are big and fast!
The irish box which we share with the belgium team, which seems to be mainly blonde female cyclists, is opposite the sky sports and UK teams. So far on the famous sighting list we have seen: Arnuad Tornant of the french team, world record holder for the kilo, and maybe some sort of coach now. As well as kevin sireau who we think is the lad out of the famous keeping it up incident with gregory borge (only borge kept it up)
Seriously crazy experience so far. We decided it may be good to train in ireland clothes, as every one else has team kit plus traing clothrs, bikes, wheels etc?!

On Sunday, Simon and I had an amazing drive down. It took us 10 hours. Thankfully we got the airconditioning fixed before the trip as it was 36 degrees outside.
Today we picked up Tim from the airport and went out to the first training session. The back stage manager gave me a personal tour of the velodrome explaining how it all works, how the seats come down from the ceiling and a wall comes out of the velodromes surface to let in trucks and the likes.
I am loving the Melbourne lifestyle, the roads surfaces and the bike lanes, oh and the coffee! Tomorrow, my plans are, Art Gallery in the morning, then a swim, then on to watch the Llewellyn's train again. Perhaps Thursday will be my shopping day (don't tell Simon) :p

Result for Tim.I just raced. My first ever points race. Lapped once I maybe shouldn't have been. I got better as it went
Does that mean he qualifies or is this raking for all in the race.

Dulwich Hill Bicycling Club brothers, Tim and Simon Llewellyn have been selected to represent Ireland in the UCI World Track Cup this weekend in Melbourne. Together, they make up the complete Irish Cycling Team.
The Llewellyn brothers are strong riders for the Dulwich Hill Club in both track and road events and are now the first riders in perhaps decades to represent their club at the International Level.
Simon had the scratch today hard fought out sprint at the end, unfortunately 6 had lapped the fieldso there weren't enough spots at the end, he was dth or so in the final sprint, I think.
Tomorrow night we have the maddison final, it is probably on fox sports, and commentated by crafty live, it will have the boring lads on tv though.
This morning I warmed up on the back of the time trial teams, I started with poland followed by new zealland and australia. I did it all in a dhbc jersie, but with us postal knicks. They eventually pulled me off to ask who I was, hopefully our maneger doesn't get a fine for it :s

Hi Liam, nice to have you drop into our Forum. Its good to see your new Club Forum has been launched.
Ok. I've been too dissapointed for words about our last race to say any thing, but yeah over all it was one of the greatest experiences ever!! Even packing our bikes rocked!! I was going up and down in the lift, each time in there was a new famous rider there! The nice ones were kaarle mculloch and josephine tomic the ozzy sprinter girls are seriously nice as. And at the bottom of the lift was the totally cute in a million ways, phillopino rider
On the new things side of it we got to try ice baths, had massages off the afl rub down people, raced on disc wheels ininternational point score and maddisons (10k plus worth of bike!) Sat with shane perkins dad who seems to know a hell of a lot about cycling (he was the philopines coach). And yeah I'm sure there was heaps more!
And now we are international cyclists, ready to take the states by storm! Ok maybe next years state titles

Any one in for a long ride, any day this week? im thinking maybe 120 plus, maybe with the national park in it?
we should have made another 30 plus laps but did alot of it time trialing off the back because i missed a change we did 10 or so laps off the back, keeping up, maybe 20.

I love the photos of your bikes on fyxomatosis. Getting a photo on there is almost as impressive as riding the world cup. It might be worth sending TC ( the site owner) a email to ask for the high res copies of the photos.
ps you can see my aerobars in shot!!
