Hi all

recently i've had really bad luck with flat tyres, i've had 3 flat tyres with in the span of 5 days.
first time it went flat just changed it
after few days of riding it went flat again so i cleaned the whole tube out made sure there was nothing left in side
and today bam it goes flat again.
btw this is all on the rear wheel.

currently im using Michelin Lithion tyres, that i bought about 2 months ago just before xmas. is it time to change or try a different brand?

if so can anyone recommend a good brand?.

its starting to get really really annoying.

thanks in advance

Continental GP 4000s or GP 4000 Chilli compound are pretty good. Probikekit has the latters for $38 ($100 here in shops) although they were out of stock last time I looked.

thanks geoff they're $47 atm, probably due to the sluggish exchange rates

i was meant to get those in the first place but i wanted to be cheap on the day and got the Michelin.

lesson learnt

It could be something on the rim.

Have the three holes been in the same place? Are they on the inside or outside of the tube?

...Or could be a pinchflat from poor tyre change technique.

If any of your punctures look like 2 holes close together like a snakebite, then you need to be more careful installing your inner tube.

What type of rim tape are you using?? May be worn out.

That's what i would suspect the problem is, so get some nice velox rimtape in there.

checked the tube from last night and it happend to be on inside of the rim rather than the out side.

one cut rather large as well, the tube deflated within less than 20 seconds

maybe its the rim tape im not too mechanical about bikes.
the current rim tape are the standard ones that came with the shimano r500 wheels, which i got with the bike 4 month ago

Al Sumner sells Velox rim tape for around $5 a rim.

Best price I know.

yeah went to his shop to buy some tubes because they were 5 bux as well so grabbed a tape off him too, went home checked all the old tubes they all poped in the same place on the inside

one of the wholes covered by the old rim tape was actually half exposed, and thats where it all happened
