The Bathurst to Blayney is on the 22nd April 2012. http://www.b2b.asn.au/index_files/Page1173.htm

Why don't we get a team of 4 DHBC 'Valley Wheelers' riders for a team. If we have more riders we could maybe form 2 teams.

162km Extreme Challenge 4 person team - entry fee is $280. (entry before 1/4/2012)

110km Extreme Challenge 3 person team - entry fee is $200. (entry before 1/4/2012)

70km Extreme Challenge 3 person team - entry fee is $180. (entry before 1/4/2012)

Last year the B2B was very cold and everyone froze. Those cyclo sportifs are also very fast and it really is a race. Which is fine if you want to be in a race without necessarily having to have a racing licence.

At around the same time, there is a nice Audax ride that DHBC has done for the last couple of years and it's really nice, and its in Mudgee. You can look it up on ride calendar www.audax.org.au but current details below. (A map will come later I guess). Also, it's cheaper than B2B.

I might be interested. There are a fair few hills. Elevation chart is here. I'm not much worried about the cold (I grew up on the southern Monaro), but did I mention the hills?

I'll see how I go on the Johnny Warren and let you know.

The elevations look a worry. Wonder if my 44-24T can get through that.

I'll do it... 100 mile would be my preference & team of 4 sounds great. I've done this one a number of times in the past & it's a good ride. Has a little dirt which'll tickle up the ol' singles. For hills there's a couple of longer climbs combined with a succession of ankle snappers. Sadly it's not ending on the top of Mt Panorama like it used to.

Mudgee Audux is the next weekend for anyone who would worry about missing it.

A good thing to do on Saturday is train to Lithgow & ride to Blayney.

B2B Developments... I looked at the map!! http://b2b.asn.au/pdf/2012%20B2B%20MAP.pdf

Difference between 110 & 170km is the 170 does an out'n'back returning to Blayney at the start then off on the same course as the 110km to Bathurst. With this I'd rather do the 110km (called the Long Course) that way severing all ties with Blayney, never to return, rather than rolling through town 2 hours later after doing a loop (would make me feel I haven't gone anywhere). 110km might be a little kinder to us Gentleman riders.

However teams for the 110km is 3 people (this may not fit as now we have 4 people) there's no reason why we can't register as individuals & ride as a group. Alister (Green Bundy) has put his hand as well so that would make Alister, John, Marc & me for a vintage group. More takers??

To get there I'd be interested in riding from Lithgow on Saturday & stay in Blayney Saturday night. Here's a possible route for the day - http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/lithgow-to-blayney

A bus runs from Lithgow to the various towns. If I remember correctly this bus has a large luggage hold at the bottom, so a bike (well padded out) should not be a problem.

Expect the bus ride to Blayney shouldnt take more than a couple of hours. Might keep a bit of extra strength for the race on the next day,

Would be a pity if we have to drop one of the 4 interested riders so far. Why dont we try to muster up 2 teams of 3 riders? 6 riders pacing each other may make it easier. All we need is another 2 riders.

If we are unable to find someone, should we 'relax' our requirement/hang-up that only a vintage steel bike can be used. How about a 'vintage' carbon bike  Blasphemy?

Yeah! So we now have:

1. Karzie
2. Toff
3. John
4. Lindsay
5. Marc

All we need is another rider to make it 6, which makes 2 teams of 3 riders for the 110km challenge. Almost there!

2. Toff
3. John
4. Lindsay
5. Alister

Quota filled! DHBC Valley Wheelers running 2 teams of 3 riders in the 110km challenge 8)
