I'm looking for a road frame for my rapidly growing son, Taku, with a 54cm (virtual) top-tube.

Given his history of dropping bikes, it should be something durable, not too pricey, and race-worthy (yes, I know, I know).

I'll be building it with modern components...

Tying to get it all together before April 14 (start of the Bathurst Jnr road camp).

I'll also consider buying a complete bike... Feel free to send a PM or reply here.

Thanks
James

I've got a 54.5 willier alloy frame hanging in my shed. also most of a 9 speed veloce groupset.

Free is not very pricey.

If you ride it in the rain. The grease washes out of the headset. Other than that is good.

Consider it sold Andrew! But it's a bit cheap*, I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement.

*edit: I'm referring to the price, not the quality!

I didn't think I had ALL the bits in the attic to build another bike... don't tell my better half!

Frame from Andrew M, and Paulette's handlebars... a new headset from Hell on Wheels (rock on)... And a surprisingly complete campy 10spd groupset that I just happened to have hanging around (!!)

All makes for the luckiest 12 year old in Newtown (or a spoilt brat).

Now, he will be unstoppable. You might have three years before he leaves you at the lights.

Immediately in my favour: junior gearing! (I think the roll-out rules were invented by unfairly competitive parents)...

Awesome bike and an even more awesome turnaround time!

I'm pretty certain it was by bike manufacturers to move their stock of 14+/16+ cassettes and create a market for 46T chainrings.
