You put in twice the effort to get half the speed.

The doormat at work breaks a plate glass window (true story).

Wasn't that windy today.

In 2001 is was so windy crossing the harbor bridge that I rode down hill in bottom gear. Many riders decided not to even try crossing.

It seems to have picked up since this morning, going to be a long ride home today, especially as I have to go to a "work function" and then ride home straight afterwards.

Doesn't look to promising for Saturday Slowies.

I had a couple of skittish moments on the way home. There were a few times when an unexpected gust of wind caused me to change my line. Combine that with the wet and it gets pretty hairy.

I have ridden in windier conditions, but considering that it was wet as well, certainly adds to the danger.

At Milsons pt, I got down to bottom gear (42/25) and I was thinking mmm its going to be windy on the bridge, but it wasn't so bad on the bridge.

Windy, but nothing like that night in 2001.

Yes, I was thinking of that one for the bridge, but it wasn't needed.

In 2001 the wind on the bridge gave me the impression that I was going to be lifted upwards, as distinct from being blown sidewise.

Your aggressive riding posture clearly has turned your torso into an airfoil, ready to fly away. :D
