Does anyone know of any groups that have formed to oppose the removal of the College st cycleway? I use it at least half a dozen times a week and it's stacked with bikes every morning and afternoon. I can't believe they'd even be contemplating something as outrageously regressive as removing it.

Have a look on sydney cyclist

A brief history;
1. Built by the City of Sydney replacing a parking lane so no reduction in motor vehicle lanes
2. State Govt decides to use College st as a ring road, moving the bike path onto Castlereach st
3. State Govt decides to make the dual way cycleway on Castlereach st peak hour only and loading zone outside of peak periods

So takeaway a separated bike path that was built without interferring with existing traffic and then replace it with a part time non separated path that will result in head on collisions between bicycles and cars

Bicycle NSW, in a partial reversal of form since the change in mgmt have initiated the #cycleways4people campaign (but still too close and nice to Gov IMO) as are I heart Sydney Cycleways (Facebook) and Sydney Cycleways (also Facebook)

Sydney Cyclist Link is good - people are ANGRY! http://www.sydneycyclist.com/forum/topi ... bulldozers

Golly... I'm not one for demonstrating but love the thought of hundreds of cyclists on the cycleway on the day they propose to start. I'm in!*

*Provided we know the date and they don't do it in the dead of night as some propose.

Mind boggling.

Hi all: Tomorrow Sun 8th Feb is day of action #1 to save the College St cycleway. Myself, along with plenty of other DHBC members will be going to the 4:00pm protest. Lets meet at the square in Marrickville at 3:15pm to peddle into town. #ThereIsPowerInTogetherness
