I've always felt that 30 was an odd line in the sand to draw. Still damn close to your physical peak. 40 makes more sense

alot of 30-35 year olds race elite anyway.

35 may be a better cut off.

Early 30s is when a lot of endurance athletes peak. Dumbass cutoff for a predominately endurance sport
