Last year, John Healey asked this very same question for 2012. I have recreated his poll here for 2013. Last years results were as follows:

<500km (you need to get out of bed) 7% 7% [ 2 ]
501 to 1,500km (you need to get off the lounge) 0% 0% [ 0 ]
1,501 to 4,999km (a respectable effort) 25% 25% [ 7 ] x
5,000 to 7,500 (now we’re talking) 36% 36% [ 10 ]
7,501 to 10,000 (you’d be in the impressive legs league) 21% 21% [ 6 ]
10,000+ (where’s my crown?) 11% 11% [ 3 ]

There has been much discussion on the topic on Facebook and on the ride this morning after Philip Le Masurier and I clocked over 10,000 for the year on the same day.

Another reason why Strava is a great cycling tool.

We still have another month to ride, so see if you can jump up a category! You can change your vote at any time.

Lets open this up!
i'm now 750km short of 20000 for the year... i think we might need another option on the poll (20000+ bit of a fruit loop)

interesting facts
9366km fixed
10335km with gears (gasp shock horror)
753 rides, 2 a day every day (with 8 days of no riding)
930h in moving time
and 150 000m of elevation gain.

and i still had time to have a boyfriend and go to work. YEW!

The only reason you resurrected the post Jo is because you did 10K+

Well done to everyone in the 10K+ category. I think that category should be renamed "nut jobs", the 15K+ category "truly insane" and the 20K+ category "half bike half man/woman"

Define "boyfriend" and "work" and is "had time to have a boyfriend" past tense

Where's the kudos button??

I will have achieved just over 7,000km by 31st of December. This is a 47.35% increase on last year's total of 4,886Km. I am petty happy with that. 2014 I hope to clock 10,000km just like the adults

~15,300 so far. Should be about 16,500 by the end of the month. Smidgen more than last year. One partner. 2 children. One (quite challenging at times) job. Very little time for other interests. Quite probably happier and healthier than I have ever been. So it works for me.

Going for 20000 by the 31st.
Have a great ride,
Peter

Those of you who have ridden more than 8,408km so far, you are all obsessed and quite sick.
Those of you who have ridden that far or less are all quite normal and to be applauded.

Was thinking about your final tally last night and was going to ask today. Looks like u beat me to it.
We'll done Peter! I'm still hovering on the 7,000km mark, but an improvement over what I was doing before I joined the club 2 years ago (maybe 5K).

No wonder you were on the front in the wind for so long on Sunday. Well done dougy, a huge improvement is obvious. The Dhbc woman's time trial team have some thing to worry about this year!

I sadly only did 6,000 km this year, lower than last year so I'm taking 2013 as my rest year.

2013 on the road (go no idea about the track or what I did on the trainer)

13,857km
176,374m climbed
595 hours that I could have been doing other things like: working, doing another degree, cleaning the house or something.

The very last ride of the year was stupidly one of the hardest.

Doubt I will match that next year but it's been fun.

I can confirm that none of those things are as beneficial or as fun as riding a bike...

I don't know about that - the degrees and work have allowed me to "invest" in a stellar bicycle :-)

7900 on Strava, plus a few hundred unlogged.

Maybe >10000 in 2014.

~5200km in 2014. About 2500km less than last year, the result of a job closer to home, 3 months unemployment (no commuting kms) and our first child arrived keeping me off a bike and out of bed for 4 months.

13,020kms. The car has done less, and suffered the indignity of only being loaded with bikes and/or abandoned for whole weeks at a time. Canberra, Bathurst, and Goulburn got multiple bike-related visits this year, but no interstate or international trips... except for Tamworth, which I suspect is another planet. Biggest ride was a 255km Hawkesbury loop with Andrewm, Captain Selfie, Philip, and Paul. Most enjoyable race was the Kurrajong Classic, and lowest point was being dropped at the NSW Masters. Proudest moment was watching Taku and the other juniors racing.

About 1000km touring in January, not a single km till August, then 1971km to finish the year.

=2971km.

Hoping for 10k this year and to have a go at 3 Peaks.

By the way I am loving being a member of the club for the last 2 months. You guys make cycling more fun than it was when I was 7!

My total logged for the year was 7,728. About 15% growth on last year.

Aim for 2014 is 10K and to lose 10kg in weight.

Modest total of 6,973km.
Short by less than 30km from the big 7K.
Damn that Waterfall ride on the 29th Dec. I abandoned the ride. Winds too hazardous for weakling me.
No plans to ride much more than 7K in 2014.
