The Catrike (recumbent) that DHBC members fundraised for Greg Pankhurst's rehab has arrived!

It turned up in a box and needs some assembling - not much apparently. There are more bits than in this photo :-)

There are a number of people in the club who would be well able to assist here and I'd like some volunteers who are available tomorrow (Sunday) or during the week to help out.

I'd suggest it's a job for someone who knows what they are doing, have assembled a number of different bikes. This is not the project to learn on.

If this is you - please contact me on 0428 645 074 or DM.

Soon we'll have Greg out on a club ride which will be very exciting.

That's very exciting news.

There must be a bevy of qualified club members who can assist. I'm not one of them.

I tend to ignore instructions and just get on with building / constructing things. I realise that this is very unusual practice for a man.

But I'm really looking forward to going on a ride with our mate Greg.

I'm sure Christian and I could lend a hand if required.

I have it on good authority that Christian is not doing anything tomorrow (other than working in the shed on his car)...

So I got a box full of parts delivered on Friday, and today Christian and Alex came around today and turned it into a Catrike. Took about 90 mins or so. These guys really know what they are doing in terms of bikes and it showed.

Even though recumbents was a newish domain for both they made it look very easy

It wasn't long before we moved to shakedown missions. We all survived, but Alex's phone didn't....

Next stop, Cooks river, and hopefully slowies soon after. Thanks Alex and Christian, and thanks so much DHBC. This rocks.

Fantastic work! A really impressive response and an impressive result. Now all we need is some dry weather and well have Greg back riding with the club. That will be a really good day - very soon!

Well today saw the launch of the DHTC. The trike and I did some shortish laps on the Cooks river, annoyingly I picked up a puncture after 12km. Gee it was good to be out there though.

The catrike and I made our first Centennial park run today( thanks so much to Pete and Michelle). Was nothing short of bloody brilliant. Even managed to chug up the hill to Oxford St a couple of times (fair to say neither recumbent trikes nor myself are designed for climbing). A return to Slowies won't be far off methinks....

Thanks again to everyone who has helped me get back on the bike.
