OK, so the Bride looked at me the other day like I had two heads (nothing unusual here, this is a normal occurrence). We were in the car, she was driving. She needed to change lanes and hit the indicator. At this point I looked back, checked the lane and then loudly called "OVER". A few minutes later we approached a set of lights and as the lights changed to amber I called, again loudly "ROLLING". It was at that point I received the "two headed look".

Naturally, I said "wot". The Bride says "you really don't know, do you?"

Hence the post. Has anyone else been caught using inappropriate "cyclisms"?

I've tried to change gear in the car by shifting a lever...

Even more strange is that I drive an automatic.

When walking I tend to use hand signs to indicate when turning or changing my line.
When driving and I spot a pothole, I have muttered "hole" a few times.

I'm told that sometimes I pedal in my sleep. Then again, I apparently also bark. Not quite sure what's going on...

Whilst walking on the road, with a cycling chum, they yell at me "car back", which promptly got me to the footpath.

Not really cycling but similar. I have found myself leaning into corners after jumping into the car after a week at the snow. Doesn't seem to make the car Ho round the corner better.

I lean into corners way more than I need to when running and any time I'm walking and I want to move out to the right I always do a head-check to make sure nothing is coming up behind me.

I draft people when I'm walking on the footpath. Similar to this.

It really puts them off.

Do you do the break dance celebration afterwards?

yep, done the call when I'm in a car. I was driving and talking to the passenger, when (I can't remember which way it was) the lights changed and I called either rolling or stopping.

At least the passenger was a cyclist too, so they did (partly) understand.
